Florence, my second home, I’ll carry you with me always ❤️

Thankful for every person, every moment, and everything I’ve learned along the way- from 7 random roommates who became family, to weekly dinners at Gustapanino, gelato at any hour, live music on the Ponte Vecchio, sunsets at the Piazzale Michelangelo, weekend trips around the world, new cultures and perspectives, unlimited Hugo Spritz’s and casually passing the Duomo on my walks. The hugs, the laughs, the late nights singing and dancing—I’ll talk about this chapter for the rest of my life. From being scared to leave all I had ever known to finding so much of myself here—I can’t believe it’s over. How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. I am eternally grateful and will forever hold this experience dear to my heart

who knew id love florence so much - weaving through people on the ponte vecchio; early morning walks to try a new coffee shop; espresso; looking forward italian class despite it being difficult; working on a new project at my internship; the privaledge of knowing and loving alyssa, gaby, olivia, caroline, alexis, ava, annie; gustapanino at any hour of the day; kareoke with any microphone we could find; weekend trips in a backpack; 15 hours on a bus to get to a new country; getting lost in the streets of over 10+ countries; bonding over food; struggling with a language barrier; being welcomed with open arms & hearts by everyone in aifs; getting corrected on my italian; losing my umbrella every time i used it; italian pharmacies; train rides; trying new sandwiches; meeting locals with a unique story; british people in italy; finding my people around the world; the opportunity to see the world.

three months away from home was no easy feat, but id do it again in a heartbeat. nothing will compare to this experience, the people i met, the places i saw, and the person i became in florence. a special privilege it has been to grow as an individual 4,000 miles away from home.
