I have reoccurring self reflective moments, today I’m thinking about work, creativity, and where culture is headed.

I think about the 600,000 Black professionals navigating layoffs, career pivots, and an uncertain job market. People with credentials, experience, and talent who are still figuring out what’s next.

And now I’m watching creators, influencers, UGC creators, artists, and entrepreneurs become the new wave of culture. Someone you scroll past today could be walking into the room you’re in.

That’s what made the @jimbeamofficial Pineapple activation Beyond the amazing summer energy, I was watching the ecosystem around it the independent creatives, the brands, and people building.

MAJOR Shoutout to @cocoandbreezy 💥💥 who have been doing this for YEARS and now on tour! 🎼👏🏾👏🏾
And to every creative out there
Never give up

This year, I’m honored to give back to a place that helped shape my life.

My name is Jashiem Namel Wiggins, a proud Bedford-Stuyvesant native. More than 35 years ago, Young Minds Day Care Center became the foundation for my early childhood education. My late sister and I both attended Young Minds, where we were surrounded by educators and mentors who believed in us before we understood our own potential.

In 2001, I had the privilege of returning to Young Minds as a student volunteer, reading to the next generation of children. Now, I’m asking for another opportunity to serve.

On August 4, 2026, we’re working to provide backpacks filled with school essentials—including pencils, crayons, black & white notebooks, and hand sanitizer—to help our youngest scholars begin their journey to first grade with confidence.

Every backpack represents more than school supplies. It represents hope, opportunity, and a community investing in its future.

💙 Here’s how you can help:
🎒 Purchase an item from our Amazon Wishlist.
📲 Share this post with your family, friends, coworkers, and organizations.
🤝 Tag someone who believes in investing in children and community.

No gift is too small. One backpack can change a child’s first day of school—and sometimes, the course of their future.
