Yes, we made an entire film from pre-production to post during COVID😷. It wasn’t easy producing, casting, rehearsing, prepping, location scouting, shooting, posting and so on — with the restrictions(and mostly over #zoom😂) but it was SO worth it. We tested beforehand and on set, masked up and followed all the protocols and still had fun🌺. Mahalo Nui to all our funders and EVERYONE of you who put your creative hearts and extra sweat into this story. Keep swiping to see how it was done💉💘🧪✨🌺♥️🌈🙏🏽#filmmakinginthetimeofcovid #lasthawaiiansugarfilm #nuanua #allaapicast #madeinhawaiifilm #nmgnetwork #picpacific #ohinalabs #ohinafilms #hiffhawaii

Filmmaking with Keiki(child) actors: stories always come to life and transform both in casting and then again on set when the actors bring their character to life. With children it’s magical in even more unpredictable ways due to their innate wisdom, imagination, authenticity, their ability to be present or make believe - depending on what particular age they are at, their unique life experiences and personalities — just like any other human. Those transcendent moments with child actors bubble up you when you, together, find how and where the opening point is at where they resonate with the story and their character’s circumstances.

Humbled by these small and not so small humans and their unbelievably supportive parents who transformed this film from a story to a living, breathing act of creative impulses with so much heart. ♥️🙏🏽🌈✨ MAHALO Casting by the extraordinary @akebo808 Akemi Bischoff 🌺 BTS 📷 @_romeofilms @blake.abes @kaitledz @taykondo

Hallmark Premier photo dump. Thank you to @angelmagik @hawaiian_aroma_caffe & @waikikibeachcomber for hosting this private screening for my family and film crew. Covid rules made it very limited and I wish I could have invited everyone to celebrate. But I felt the love near and far! Hope you liked the movie “You had me at Aloha” never really announced it publicly until after I was done filming so surprise! It me! Thanks to my family and friends for helping me put this event together on such a short notice. Love you @katiedoylecasting for always supporting local talent PC: @kurtstevensphotography 💯

Life is magical.

I am thankful to be relinked with @blissmodelsandtalent since back in the day when I had a dream that I could be a model like my beautiful older sister.

Thank you @akebo808 for casting me for @hm_man. Turning my dreams into an epic reality. Getting to work with a lot of cool talented professionals like @elijah.bf @divinebeautifulme and many more that connected for a brief time together to share our skills to create some art that highlights the beauty of running in paradise with comfortable good looking apparel.

First two pics are some of the many shots of that day. Last two pics are some of the many shots used to audition thanks to @joey_liu_ for having my back to get every audition in as quickly and high quality as possible.

With our amazingly talented fearless leader @penabrand and our amazing all-Hawaii crew, it truly felt like a family affair - which made it easier to pull off our crazy shoot schedule. We shot 4-5 locations a day, all practical 😱 So happy this is out!⠀
