Which version of Karnak Temple has your heart?

Most people don’t realize you can actually experience this ancient wonder in two completely different atmospheres. Here is the breakdown if you’re planning a trip to Luxor:

☀️ KARNAK BY DAY: This is when the temple truly shines. The daytime sun illuminates the massive pillars of the Great Hypostyle Hall, allowing you to see every single intricate hieroglyphic and architectural detail in high definition. If you want to photograph the sheer scale of the history here, daytime is unmatched.

🌙 KARNAK AT NIGHT: Once the sun sets, the temple lights up for the Sound & Light Show. The atmosphere shifts completely—it feels mysterious, cinematic, and deeply ancient under the stars.

My honest take? If you have to choose just one, the daytime visit is definitely more worth it. The natural light lets you appreciate the artistry and scale much better. However, if you are a travel completionist who wants to see every side of Luxor, doing both is an incredible experience! 🇪🇬✨

Let me know in the comments—would you prefer the daytime sun or the nighttime magic?

Tucked away on Agilkia Island in Aswan, the beautiful Philae Temple is not only a masterpiece of ancient architecture dedicated to the goddess Isis. it’s also home to a colony of friendly island cats! 🏛️🐾

📍 How to visit: You’ll need to take a quick taxi to the Marina, and then hire a traditional motorboat to ferry you across the Nile to the island.

Don’t ruin your Valley of the Kings trip by picking the wrong tombs!

When you buy a standard general admission ticket (600 EGP / ~$12 USD), it only lets you choose three standard open tombs. If you want to see the truly spectacular ones, you have to buy individual add-on tickets at the gate.

In my opinion the best standard tombs are (Pick these 3):
1️⃣ KV2 (Ramesses IV) - Incredible preservation & massive sarcophagus.
2️⃣ KV11 (Ramesses III) - Famed for the secular ‘blind harpists’ room.
3️⃣ KV6 (Ramesses IX) - Gorgeous astronomical ceilings.

💎 As shown in the reel the essential add-ons (Worth the money):
• KV9 (Ramesses V & VI) - Costs ~180 EGP extra. Genuinely the most beautiful ceiling in the entire valley. Do NOT skip this.
• KV17 (Seti I) - Costs ~1,800 EGP extra. The ultimate luxury splurge. It’s the deepest and most detailed tomb in Egypt.

⚠️ The Skip: KV62 (King Tut). It costs 600 EGP extra. Unless you desperately want to see his real mummy in person, the walls are small and mostly plain compared to the others!
