Last month, we hosted our very first xo, koh Junk Journaling Workshop. It was lovely! Thank you to the ladies who joined us, got creative, shared their own tips and took a little time out of their busy lives to intentionally create something with their hands.

In a world where we’re constantly scrolling, rushing and moving from one thing to the next, there’s something really special about slowing down, putting our phones away and making something simply for the joy of making it.

We loved meeting each of you, seeing your creativity come to life and sharing a little piece of something that’s so meaningful to us.

This was just the beginning! We can’t wait to create with you again. Keep an eye on our page for future workshops and events. 💛

Earlier this week I spent a wonderful day visiting two local stationery shops, Scribe Stationer in Cedar Rapids and Iron Leaf Press in Mt. Vernon. They are both great shops and offer a wide variety of goods that any stationery lover could want. They are both small but have so many cute and fun goodies packed inside their walls. There’s something about a stationery store that always feels cozy and familiar to me. It’s a good thing they aren’t closer to Des Moines or else I’d be there constantly. It does make me sad, though, that Des Moines doesn’t have a cute stationery store of its own. #iowapapertrail

Any day you’ve got THREE KOHS together is a good day!

Auntie Liz has arrived, and the cousin pups all got to meet for the first time!! Her Beau and our Bo are both chill, and River was a total spaz…but loved it SO much!! ♥️

We got to squeeze in a quick hello before soccer practices, where we learned it is impossible to get a picture with 3 dogs, 3 Kohs, and 2 kids with everyone in the frame! 😂

I couldn’t be more grateful for a trip to see my friends Caleb & Cecily. Thank you to my friends for making it happen and having an amazing time in Nashville for Madison and I birthday !! I can say “ thank you “ but it still doesn’t feel like enough. I truly appreciate you all and thankful for having yall in my life.

Kids grow up way too fast 😭 The first photo is from this past summer, and I feel like my niece and nephew have already shot up in size since then.

My heart is so full after spending quality time laughing and playing games with them last month. At one point, I really looked at Gavin’s face and noticed his little—but now grown—facial features. His beautiful, long eyelashes and sweet brown eyes are the same as when he was a toddler. I want him to stay a kid forever, but I also can’t wait to see what he goes on to do in life—who he becomes. Probably a professional soccer player or a world-famous musician.

Gavin’s in seventh grade now, but this fall, he joined the local high school marching band. He’s in the percussion group, playing the synthesizer. How cool is he?? He also auditioned for his school’s eighth-grade band trip to Carnegie Hall—and he made it!!!

This is the trip of a lifetime. It’s something these kids are truly looking forward to, especially after Hurricane Helene and its devastating aftermath. Music has a special way of healing the soul, and I have no doubt this is giving these kids the opportunity to do just that.

His band is raising money to make the big trip to New York in March. Whether you can donate or help spread the word, I know they’d be so grateful. ❤ you can find the scannable QR code at the end of this or donation link in my bio.

My heart is filled with so much gratitude and thanks for what an incredible year this was. It was filled with lots of hard work, long nights, but the rewards were tremendous. I’m so grateful to everyone that helped me create my book, came to book launch, book signings and workshops. I feel so fortunate to all the opportunities that came across my plate to showcase the book and my paper flower journey.

Here’s to 2025. 🥂The first six months of the year is packed with book promotions, workshops, travels and of course it will be filled with lots of flowers. I hope to see you next year in Portland, Seattle, Osaka, Kyoto, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and many more!

I was editing some b-roll from our network news affiliate (more on this later) when I spotted this shot and started tearing up. You see BK holding AK’s hand while trudging through a thick layer of mud inside of their restaurant. It reminded me of one of their wedding photos (swipe left). You see them walking hand-in-hand on a beautiful day. I can’t think of a better depiction of the idiom “through thick and thin”.

Angela and I always talk about relationships and how hard they can be. She tells me marriage isn’t easy. Owning businesses with your partner isn’t easy. You are with them 24/7 because you have to make decisions together. Things aren’t always perfect but it helps when you make a good team. She and BK make a great team.

I’m really proud of them for always putting people first. They lead with compassion and empathy. That’s what they did during the pandemic and that’s what they’re doing now. I couldn’t be more proud to call them family.

Also thanks to them, we’re able to share those stories with viewers in Baton Rouge and beyond. Proud to be a broadcaster.
