POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One year ago today, I posted about my late fiancé’s bench.
I had no idea it would change my life.

That post about the bench was seen over 12 million times.
I thought maybe 300 people would watch it.
Mostly my friends.

Instead, it led to:
• Features in @people @todayshow @entertainmentweekly and more…
• Meeting Drew Barrymore on the @thedrewbarrymoreshow and telling our story…

None of which I could’ve imagined when I hit “post.”

At the time, I thought I was just sharing something personal.
A way to feel less alone.

What was actually happening?
I was finding community.
And thousands of you were finding me.

What I’ve learned in a year on TikTok:

The internet isn’t just noise.
It can be a room full of people whispering, “I agree”

Grief doesn’t isolate us the way we think it does.
It connects us — when we’re brave enough to say it out loud.

Vulnerability is not oversharing. It’s generosity.

The story you’re scared to tell might be the one someone else is praying to hear.

The bench was where I proposed.
Later, it became a memorial.
Now, somehow, it’s also a bridge.
Between me and millions of strangers who don’t feel like strangers anymore.

If you watched.
If you commented.
If you shared your own story.
If you took time to visit the bench…
Thank you.

You didn’t just make a video go viral.
You helped me build a life after loss.

One year later, I’m still here.
Still grieving.
Still healing.
Still telling the truth.

And I’m just getting started.

Thank you Alex for the interview, it is beautifully written and didn’t even feel like an interview, more like best friends talking so thank you for your kindness and memorable experience 🙏🏼
