If your kid is a singer, you probably have a favorite vocal clip somewhere on your phone. This is mine.

5 years ago, today, @molly.oldham had an 8 plus hour surgery to remove a tennis ball size tumor from her brain. The surgeon told us to expect deficiencies, definite left side weakness, and months of rehab to learn to speak, eat and walk again.

You can imagine the absolute joy we felt when she came out singing. My favorite part is @48 seconds when she says “I’m going to survive”. And @lilly_oldham says “yeah you are”. That was music to all our ears.

The road was not easy. So many speed bumps, road closures, potholes and speed traps.

Her last scan was in February so we are off track from the quarterly scans with graduation, post grad insurance changes, MRI scheduling backups everywhere and island living…but today we celebrate resiliency. Next week, we scan.

I Can’t believe these moments are exactly 5 years apart. Life is good.

5 years ago, we had a waiting room full of people, from all sectors of our lives. We had people praying and holding their breath for us all over the country/world! We had love from strangers who would become friends, friends who became family and for every last bit of it we remain so thankful.
