Running my first marathon made me realize that

There will always be someone faster, stronger, or further along than you…

✖️ But that doesn’t mean you don’t belong in the room

26.2 miles is 26.2 miles regardless your pace or time

Be proud of the work YOU put in and dedicated yourself to

👊🏼 Surrounding yourself with people who are further along than you is how you challenge yourself to grow

The goal isn’t to be better than everyone around you. It’s to keep showing up, pushing yourself and becoming better than you were before

/ Run your own race
/ Don’t compare your chapter 3 to someone else’s chapter 30

& Just keep putting one foot in front of the other

Can we do the @akronmarathon again ASAP?!

I can't believe it's already been TWO WEEKS since the Akron Marathon!

In this clip from That Cleveland Running Show, @christinechurpek and @benczean talk about their involvement with the Akron Race Series, what makes these races so special, and why they love being part of the Akron running community!

Who else is already counting down the days until next year?!

I’ve never felt Jesus more in my life.

I would do this again but next time train more than 5 miles a week.

🏃‍♀️🦷 We had such a great time being part of the @akronmarathon expo last week!

It was so wonderful to see the excitement, energy, and smiling faces of participants and their families as they picked up their race gear and explored the expo! 🏅😊

We loved having the opportunity to connect with so many people and share why oral health is an important part of overall health, including the importance of regular dental care and orthodontic treatment.

We are so grateful to have been part of such an amazing event and loved every minute of it! 💙

Congratulations to @christinajohnston18 and @drjoetfd who ran the Akron Half Marathon this past weekend. Christina placed 3rd overall and was the 1st masters runner! She also set a new masters course record running 1:20:35. #akronmarathon #runakron #halfmarathon #mvtcgreenefrogs

First race since June and it went well. 1st OA Masters and a top 10 finish. The first 5k were perfect, then I eased back a little. I knew that meant my finish time would not be a PR, but this is a tough course and I wanted to be a little conservative. It ended up being a course PR but more importantly I felt great start to finish (minus the hill at mile 8 😅). Appreciate the race coordinators and spectators. Eyes set on Detroit!

If I’m being honest, I think completing a half marathon for the first time has forever changed me 🤍

It was the longest I’ve ever run both in distance and in time. The most consistent I’ve ever been in my pace where I didn’t burn out at the tail end of the race. The most cumulative training I’ve ever completed and actually seen pay off in such a profound way.

When I crossed the finish line, I began to reflect on my life up to this point. So much has been shed, so much has been transformed, so much has been discovered within me that I never recognized was ever there. With the help of my community, I’ve been able to keep going despite the anxiety, despite the doubt, despite the conditioning that has consistently told me “you can’t do that” I’ve proven to myself that I, indeed, can.

My story isn’t over. It seems to me, we’ve only scratched the surface of truly living. I am excited to see what more I’m capable of and who else will be part of my journey.

One day, one step, one mile at a time.

Like Natasha says, “the rest, is still unwritten.” 🤍
