This might be a long one so ☝️

Today I release the first full length album under my own name. I didn’t do it alone, and frankly I couldn’t have done it without every single person who contributed. I am so grateful to every single one of them.

You’ll find 8 songs on this record. I wrote several of them with Tuck Ryan, and a couple with Scott Bookman. I arranged all of them with Mike Newman, Nick Kroll, and Andy Mowatt. Some other folks also contributed to different song arrangements along the way, including Josh Kanusky, Caden Meyers, Aaron Abercrombie, John LeClair, Jordan Rast, Matt Blank, Ron Leik, Liz Fulmer, and Jackie Hynes.

Strange Fire, Love To Wake, and Nothing Like Me were recorded at MDW Production with Michael Washkevich while Josephine, Damn Jean, Scared Of The Sun, If You Wanted To, and Chicago were recorded at Right Coast Recording with Bobby Gentilo.

Huge thanks to my wonderful friend Michelle Johnsen for always being down to capture some funky and weird pictures of me for these projects. You’re a gem.

I also want to thank Rob Homan for being the creative mind behind most of the album artwork / graphic design for this album, as well as his lovely partner, and stellar artist, Suzi Fitz, for the beautiful calligraphy for the Scared Of The Sun cover.

And last but not least I want to thank my partner and best friend, Alison, for putting up with every minute of it for the past 2.5 years. Thank you for cheering me on and reminding me that I can do whatever I put my mind to. I love you endlessly.

Tonight is the release show at Zoetropolis and it’s going to be a very fun night with appearances from Thunda Khatt and Howard Johnson, as well as a limited number of handmade linocut posters from Rob Homan.
(There might also be some stickers….)

Come out and celebrate with me. I’m proud of this album and every single song on it. I wrote these songs at different times and in different places in my journey, but I never expected to hear them start to sound how they felt and feel to me. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Thank YOU for all of your love and support. It makes it all so worth it.

happy new year, my friends! Life is nothing if not something to fight for and enjoy and adore and grow into it. I am thankful for the people who remain constant in my life and who have pushed me to heal myself and engage in the ever present life that is before me. Big love to all of you. I hope the last two years have at least shown you how goddamn resilient you are, you shining star you✨🌟
But yeah, go you. Go me. Go us. I’m proud of us.

Yes, pride means something more than parties and capitalism. It means that a much younger me maybe finds happiness and self love a bit sooner. It means living a life that rejects shame and embraces JOY and the pathways of peace.

Nothing is perfect, but I am so grateful to be loved and to be learning to love myself and others.

Happy pride my friends🏳️‍🌈
