We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Matt Murphy @nuggetmedic to Arms Like Teeth as our first (human) bass player 🦷
Matt went above and beyond to learn our whole EP by ear, and will be bringing so much to the band beyond just low end. We are so excited to go into a new chapter as a band, with a full release under our belt and a full lineup of passionate, talented artists that are hungry for more.
Everyone say hi to Matt, and check out his other band, @quickbeforetheoutbreak , who we will be collaborating with a whole lot in the near future.

Im contractually obligated to get real emotional about music releases a couple hours before they come out, and today is no different. I was lucky enough to capture @armsliketeeth_603 ‘s growth over the last 2 years and it’s humbling.
I have videos of us working on the songs on “This Place Isn’t Home Anymore” before we had a name, before I had the lyrics written, before anybody but the 4 of us knew the “9-5” line in Bad Days. We haven’t been active for more than year, but we get so much love and so many people know our one song that we’re able to share our mics with the crowd when we play live. They haven’t even heard the good songs yet.
I played my first real show at Helie’s Carpet when I was 15, and I thought Rumors of Betrayal was the best band in the world. I toured with This Time Stars Fall when I was 18 and thought their drummer was amazing. “I Was The Problem” was the most important, vulnerable piece of music I’ve ever been involved with in Voidbearer. And it has all come full circle with Arms Like Teeth and this EP. It’s the best of all of us. I couldn’t imagine putting this out with anyone but my brothers, and I can’t articulate how much they mean to me. I just love you so much and the art that we’ve made. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.

These songs are about my father passing away, losing my childhood home, suffering from my own and my dad’s substance abuse, depression, having a shitty job, and learning to cope with grief. Life is unpredictable, cruel, and mostly miserable. I want the phrase “This Place Isn’t Home Anymore” to be as much about acceptance as it is about the shitty hand we are dealt. Your place in this world is not studs and drywall, and it is not the hurt that others have put you through. You deserve to be loved, you deserve the chance to turn your pain into something beautiful, and you deserve the grace to let go.
We love you.
