💃🔥 Elegancia, fuerza y alma flamenca

I transformed my Loteria card into the tarot card “The High Priest” (V). A Great blue heron, the teacher (wisdom), stands center and represents spirit. The crossed keys are a connection between Earth and the spirit realm. Constellations like Taurus and Cygnus dance in the sky as the pond comes alive beneath, celebrating cycles of life. 🍃🌕
•
I left some little bits of the original Loteria card in my painting. It was so much fun to let the energy flow in this piece. 🌙 Swing by @alac_az to see my art along with other amazing work by local artists. ✨

My newest wall piece “El Paraguas” ☂️ is at @alac_az and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for LOTERIA DE ARTE!! ✨ El Paraguas (The Umbrella) is card number 5 in the traditional Mexican game of Lotería. The traditional verse is “Para el sol y para el agua.” (For the sun and for the rain). It represents protection, shelter, and navigating life’s storms safely. The number 5 made me think of my own 5 kiddos, who I “umbrella” for on the daily. Integrating #dailydoodles , a Rosie #friendlyflower, custom acrylic raindrop, some sewing and dichroic vinyl, this little love is looking for a new home. ✨💜✨ See you tomorrow!!

Putting the words on the pages took dedication and time. The story one you know you just don't know how it ends, the relatability to it, and the numbing feeling that somehow is the loudest part that can't be silenced.

Henry M. Bachman probably

Amor, Quejío y Vuelo- Sept 19 & 20 | phxworldarts.org/events
Love. Lament. Flight.

There comes a moment when the heart can no longer remain where it has been.

It must rise.
It must risk.
It must fly.

Amor, Quejío y Vuelo is an emotional journey told through the universal language of feeling — following a woman through the ecstasy of love, the shattering silence of its loss, and the unexpected discovery of something that had been within her all along: the strength to rise.

Through the raw power of Flamenco, the stage becomes a landscape of memory — searching glances, absence, desire, echoes of what once was, and a hope that quietly refuses to die.

Bringing this story to life is an extraordinary gathering of artists:

La Emi & José Junco — dance
Misael Barraza Díaz — guitar
Olivia Rojas — cante
Eddie Garcia — percussion

Together, they speak without explanation — through the body, the voice, the strings, the rhythm, and the silence between them.

Because some loves change us.
Some losses break us open.

And sometimes, what feels like falling…
is the beginning of flight.
