Sometimes, the strongest words a woman can say are: “I need you.” 🤍

As women, we try so hard to hold everything together—in life, in business, and for the people we love. We carry responsibilities, solve problems, make decisions, and keep going, even on the days when we feel exhausted or uncertain.

And somewhere along the way, we can forget the woman behind all those roles. Her feelings. Her dreams. Her need to be cared for, too.

At the sixth Women in Business event curated by @chillevents___ , Csilla’s @csillaember opening speech touched something deeply personal in me. Her reminder that we can ask for help—and that we don’t have to face every difficulty alone—was something I truly needed to hear.

Because difficult times reveal so much about our relationships. We discover who stays when we have nothing left to give. Who listens without expecting anything in return. Who makes room for our vulnerability. And, sometimes painfully, who walks away when we need them most.

Those moments hurt. But they also help us recognise the people with whom we can finally put down the weight we have been carrying and simply be ourselves.

I want to be that person for someone, too. The friend who notices. Who calls. Who means it when she says, “I’m here.”

Thank you, Csilla, for creating such an uplifting, heartfelt event. For giving us space to connect beyond our job titles and achievements, and for reminding us that the woman beside us may be carrying something we know nothing about.

I left with gratitude, new connections, and a thought that will stay with me:

May we have the courage to ask for help—and the kindness to answer when someone asks us. 🤍

I wouldn’t be able to make it without him. I landed in Budapest during a solo trip across Europe in 2023. After I tried to make friends in Facebook groups and apps with very little success, I was like: Let’s switch to dating. We matched and met within a week, in front of the Freedom Bridge, on the Buda side. I fell in love with his version of Budapest. He had a story for every corner of the city. Now, we’re creating our own. I spend enormous energy building a home here, learning the language, history, and culture, but it takes time. Sometimes I feel like I’m a 33-year-old child: a little bit powerless, a little bit useless. That’s why I try hard to cling to my roots, remembering where I come from, who I’ve been, and how that’s shaped who I am. I’ve been many things. I’ve been the eldest daughter of a single mother who taught me I can do anything. I’ve been the scholarship kid in a school filled with wealthy children who wouldn’t hesitate to look down on my thrifty looks. I’ve been rejected, but I’ve also been accepted. I’ve been pushed down, but I’ve been lifted just as much. I can’t say that I’ve been hated, but I know that I am loved. And I’m strong. I always keep going. Time and time again, it feels like that’s my only choice, to push through. Even now, living what seems like a fairy tale with a man I met almost three years ago on what was supposed to be a three-week trip, it’s not all roses. I’m still a migrant. Staying legally in the EU is hard, and I’ll have to go back to my country in a month or so. We’ll be long-distance for a while, but I know I’ll be back, because I won’t give up. I can’t give up. That’s just who I am; I push through. And with him by my side, I’m stronger than ever.
