KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, LUKA. 🇭🇷🥊

Don’t be sad. This was an experience — and an important one.

Fighting abroad, on enemy ground, is never easy. Sometimes you are dealing with officials who see things differently, and in boxing you have to understand one thing: when you fight away from home, you often start with a deficit.

But Luka, you were strong. You were brave. You showed heart, courage and quality. Most importantly, you proved that you belong at this level. I was proud watching you in that ring.

Congratulations to Lester Martinez. He fought a strong fight and deserved his victory. It was competitive, it was close, and we saw many great rounds between two very good fighters. There are no excuses.

But I still believe that the TKO stoppage in the 10th round was unnecessary. Luka was taking the punches, he was still there, and in my opinion he deserved the opportunity to continue and finish this fight. We are in professional boxing — not tennis or darts. Of course, a referee must protect a fighter’s health, but he must also understand when a fighter is still capable of defending himself and competing.

And Luka, there is something for you to learn from tonight as well: never lose your focus — especially on enemy ground. You may know that you can take those punches, but you cannot give a referee the opportunity to interpret the situation differently. At this level, every second, every reaction and every tactical mistake matters.

Learn from this night. Learn from the tactical mistakes. Take this experience with you and come back smarter, sharper and stronger.

A big thank you to your trainer Joel Diaz and the entire team. Luka was very well prepared, and everybody did a great job.

We also want to thank all our sponsors, investors, partners and friends who have supported Luka, believed in him and helped him throughout this journey. Your support is part of everything we have achieved together.

And once again, thank you to the WBC for giving Luka this opportunity.

Luka Plantić is not a disappointment. Not today. Not for one second.
