She didn’t just believe in me. She got tired of waiting for me to believe in myself.

December 27th, 2024. We were in Orlando, fresh off Christmas, and I was doing the thing I’d done at the end of 2022 and again at the end of 2023 — moaning about how badly I wanted to start posting running content, then letting imposter syndrome talk me out of it every single time.

She’d heard it for two years. That night she finally looked at me and said: “Just f*cking start.”

Three words. That’s all it took.

I bought a camera. I posted my first video on that hot Orlando night right after Christmas. And somehow that one push has turned into partnerships, friendships, and experiences I used to dream about but never believed would actually find me.

@emily_allberry is my rock. She’s been my biggest supporter from the very beginning — the one standing at the finish line every time, waiting for me to blow her a kiss. We’ve traveled the world together. Tokyo. Europe, twice. Things I never imagined for my life, and she was there for all of it.

None of this exists without her.

I’ll never be able to thank her enough for what she did that night. But I’ll spend the rest of my life grateful — grateful that I get to love her, and even luckier that I get to call her my best friend.

Thank you, baby. ❤️🫶🏻

And as @coachbennett would say: This is about running. This is not about running.

Running has always been about community to me. We may train in solitude for most of the journey, but crossing that finish line takes so much more than willpower. It takes the hands of the people who believe in us on our backs, pushing us forward when the miles feel impossible and the weight gets too heavy.

I’m so grateful I got to meet some of the incredible runners I follow during Boston Marathon weekend. They inspire me every day in my own running, and they show me what real resilience looks like. Seeing them in person gave me an extra dose of strength I genuinely needed to run this race — especially after spending most of the weekend not believing in myself.

No one runs alone. There is always someone in your corner, cheering you on mile after mile as you work your way to the finish. And don’t forget — you never know who you’re inspiring along the way.

I’ll always be in your corner. 💙💛🏃🏻
