Sometimes, I stay up wondering if all that I’m doing, all that I’m sacrificing just to be an artist is worth it.

All the tears I’m shedding, all the sleep I’m missing, all the pain I’m sharing every time I pick up a microphone. Maybe you and I had this pain in common already. Maybe I’m making that more obvious than it needs to be.

They say, to chase a life in art is to chase madness. That artists are the black sheep of this family we call earth. I wonder if I should just keep these songs, these feelings locked away in a dusty cabinet of my heart and never look at them again. It’d be nice not to feel like a black sheep for a day.

I wonder if showing up on the scene with my first album as late as at 29 is too big a risk.

But then, nights like this happen, and all of a sudden, I have Ummeed again ❤️‍🩹
