A little full-circle moment ✨ Tonight at 7pm I’ll be joining Anne Cassin on RTÉ One’s Nationwide, chatting about my career in fashion, personal style, sustainability, vintage and second-hand shopping, natural fibres and the growing importance of regenerative fashion. Twelve years ago, Anne and the Nationwide team travelled to Donegal to go behind the scenes of a fashion shoot I was styling with then model now regenerative farmer and knitwear designer @faye_dinsmore , celebrating Irish designers, Irish textiles and the incredible creativity we have on this island. I’m wearing my hand knit @edelmacbride Aran jumper which I still cherish. And here we are, over a decade later! So much has changed in my career and in the fashion industry, but in many ways, the things I feel most passionately about haven’t changed at all. Supporting Irish design, shopping locally, championing natural fibres, appreciating craftsmanship and finding beauty and individuality in pre-loved and vintage clothing have always been part of my DNA. What’s wonderful is seeing so many of these conversations becoming part of the mainstream. A greater appreciation for where our clothes come from, how they’re made and the value of what we already own can only be a good thing. I’ve been lucky enough to work in fashion since I was 19, and my career has taken me in directions I could never have imagined. I’m still learning, still evolving and still excited to see where it leads next. A huge thank you to Anne Cassin and the Nationwide team for inviting me to share a little of that journey, and for revisiting the conversation all these years later. One of The best in the world. He’s done K2 (the only living Irish man to do so) also Everest and has got several groups on top of Everest. But most importantly, he is the most humbling, amazing human I have ever met. 🙌 and our amazing guide @piotrsurmiak @greatoutdoors76 Ken, you need the best kit with the dangers of the mountains. A bittersweet moment captured in the station boathouse this morning, where volunteer crew member, Ciarán Deane said goodbye to Joval, our inshore lifeboat for the last time (for now) as he plans to embark on a bit of travelling abroad. Ciarán has been a valuable part of the team in Dún Laoghaire Lifeboat Station on and off the water. Whether responding to shouts, answering questions from young members of the public, helping with Station Open Days and yes - even agreeing to appear in videos or posts on the station’s social media pages…your good humour, gentle nature and warm personality will be dearly missed by us all.
