🎮🦇 PAX AUS 2026 — WHAT A BLOODY WEEKEND! 🖤

My second PAX and somehow I think I loved it even more than the first! Three days of games, amazing people, questionable spending decisions and absolutely zero regrets. 🤣

One of my favourite parts was meeting so many incredible developers and creators. Getting to chat with the people behind the games, hearing their stories and seeing how passionate they are about what they create was honestly the highlight of my weekend. 🖤

⚔️ THE WITCHER!! I got to see the live demo of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past, and holy shit, I cannot wait for 2027!

📌 THE PINS. ALL THE BLOODY PINS! 😂 My collection may have gotten slightly out of hand. My favourite pickup has to be the new World of Warcraft WoW Forever pins!

🎮 I also got to try some incredible upcoming indie games, and there are definitely a few I'll be keeping my eye on!

Shoutout to these amazing creators:

@mossbirdstudios
@alanamation

🛍️ And naturally, I couldn't come home empty-handed. I picked up some gorgeous finds from @blackmilkclothing and Misty Mountain Gaming, which I'll be showing off over the next few days. Because apparently I have no self-control around nerdy shit. 🤣

Now the post-PAX blues have well and truly kicked in, but at least I'm back home with my little fur gremlin, Spyro. 🐾🖤

Speaking of Spyro... I think he might have just landed himself a job as The Raven's Arcade's unofficial mascot. Whether he likes it or not. 😂

Until the next side quest...

Same chaotic witch. Slightly poorer. Already missing PAX. 🦇🔮

So tell me, fellow nerds — what was your favourite discovery or pickup from PAX this year?

Day 2 @paxaus 🐴🌸🩷

Wake up uma nation, cutest uma Haru Urara invaded the con on Saturday!! 🫶 (the wig is for Rosemi, but I thought fit urara well!) The uniform is handmade by me! Including handmade bow & headband, only had to borrow ears from @springdreamer_ to make her complete!

I got up to silly shenanigans meeting other uma musume cosplayers at the uma meet. We took fun photos, complimented each other's cosplays, and had a tiny baby race to win stickers! Thank you @mrsdottore for hosting the meet as Tazuna! 💚

I did some more con exploring, I found out there was MLP tcg cards & admired them in their glory. I also tried out more games, such as zolana made by @alanamation which is so cute, love battling through fashion! 💃✨️

Finally I watched a @lumins_workshop panel about pattern drafting in cosplay, and I learned lots of new tips from the cosplayer & sewist for draping, how to make a pattern fit you best, & books on how to draft basic block patterns! 🙏💖

PAX PAX PAX! What a weekend!? I honestly don’t know how to summarise it into words on a single post, but I’ll try… I somehow managed to cosplay three days (usually I barely manage two - this year, I wore Blonde Blazer, Keyleth and Cody Rhodes), but it presented so many opportunities for shoots, meetups and meeting new people with similar interests. While I spent most of my weekend hanging out with friends and being involved in the cosplay scene, I did also get a bit of gaming in (especially thanks to the media hour where it’s a bit quieter) and really made use of my gifted pass with all of the panels I caught - I heard so many perspectives on accessibility, diversity and methodology for both cosplay and gaming… plus, the cosplay comp! …which is always a highlight - the contestants really brought the MOST this year. Thank you to all the friends who made this weekend incredible, to all the photographers I worked with, to @paxaus and @rocketcommsanz for my CC pass, to all the panelists who shared their insights, and to the team for putting on a great show that was somehow even bigger than last year! Some people are pictured, but I’m still thankful to those I caught this weekend and I didn’t snap a shot with.
I already spent most of yesterday sleeping (hence the slightly delayed wrap-up post) and I reckon I need a few more days honestly… but I’m already excited for and planning next year! See you there?

🎡💜 POV: You survived PAX… but now you have to survive the PAX blues. 🥹

Anyone else go from days of excitement, incredible people, amazing indie games and barely any sleep… to sitting at home wondering what to do with themselves? 😂😭

Because SAME.

The post-convention comedown is REAL, and I've definitely been feeling it since coming home from PAX Aus 2026.

Sometimes it's not just the event we miss. It's the people, the connections, the excitement and that feeling of being surrounded by people who just get you. 💜

So I've put together a little guide for anyone else feeling flat, emotional, exhausted or just missing that PAX magic. 🫶

✨ Give yourself time to recover.
💜 Let yourself feel the feelings.
📸 Hold onto those memories.
🎮 Keep playing and supporting indie games.
🫶 Stay connected with your community.

You can be grateful for an amazing experience and still feel sad that it's over. Both things can be true. ❤️

👉 Swipe through for some gentle reminders, and remember, the community doesn't end when PAX does!

💬 Community check-in: Have the PAX blues hit you too? What's one memory from this year's PAX that still makes you smile? 💜

Create amazing outfits and defend Earth from the unfashionable Uniforians in ZOLANA: GIRL GALACTIC. Cat spoke to Lana about the Y2K fashion game that’s all about battling it out on the runway.

🎙️ Welcome back to Behind The Game, the series where I sit down with indie game developers to talk about their craft, their process, and the games they're pouring their hearts into! This is Episode 21!

👗 In this episode, I chat with Alana from Alanamation and Coen from Grey Cult about their flash-inspired, Y2K-style dress-up game Zolana: Girl Galactic. You play as Zolana, a space-faring fashionista determined to save Earth's individuality and style when a conquering alien race, the Uniforians, arrive intending to impose their drab, conformist attire on everyone.

💅 We dig into the "Fashion Battle" mechanic, matching Y2K-inspired outfits to themes like Sporty, Romantic, and Edgy to outscore rival commander Una, and designing a scoring system that rewards genuine self-expression over "optimal" dressing. Alana and Coen also share the journey from an original university prototype to a collaborative project between Alanamation and Grey Cult, and how the narrative shifts depending on whether Zolana and Una end up as fashion rivals or fashion friends.

🏆 Zolana: Girl Galactic is proudly featured as part of PAX Australia's PAX Rising showcase 2026, spotlighting the best independent games from Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
