And just like that, my solo journey is over 🥹🥹🥹

And a huge thank you to my mum and dad for your continuous belief and encouragement no matter what happened you’ve always been supportive! And it was really special to have you both come down to my last ever comp! ⭐️

Massive thank you to @em.clell for being my rock during the past 4 years whilst I’ve been doing solos. This dance is so special to me and it’s so bittersweet that it’s come to an end.
This contemp also was awarded a choreography award today which is just a little token to let everyone know just again how clever u are emmo! 🫶 forever in awe of you and how you work❤️
@hannahsalatielu and I started this new lyrical early this year which we only had 2 privates on as I thought I was going to be doing more comps this year.
But this dance did a one and done and it already has such a special place in my heart.
Thank you to everyone who has been apart of my solo journey, I’m gonna miss it a lot but for now I’m just feeling very grateful! 🤍⭐️🫶🫰

A comp, created by a Mother, with children in mind.
From the Kindness Corner, with hand written notes and balloons, positive affirmations handed out, dance parties, Crowns for every first place and HAND BEDAZZLED sashes- I can only imagine the hours that went into organising and curating this 🥹🙏🏻

Here’s a bit about Alana Tod! She’s so excited to come in and teach next week❤️ if anyone would like to join edge on the 17th let me know xx

Alana has been dancing since the age of three and has been trained in a huge range of dance styles. She has reached advanced levels in RAD ballet, ISTD ballet, modern and tap. Alana holds her Associate Diploma teaching qualification with ISTD Modern Theatre and Imperial Classical ballet and is an NZAMD registered teacher. In addition to her dance training, she also holds a BCom and LLB both with the University of Auckland – she attained these degrees alongside her dance teaching qualifications and briefly working with Ritz Event Entertainment. After finishing university Alana decided to follow her passion for dance education.
Alana is one of the Senior teaching team at Northern School of Performing Arts (Auckland) and one of the Managers of ADP (Advanced Development Program). Alana is an accomplished teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. Some teaching highlights include winning choreographic awards and students receiving technical excellence awards and assorted scholarships at competitions nationally and internationally. Alana is proud to have had students progress to full time training overseas and then on to successful professional dance careers. Alana has had students win top awards at the NZAMD scholarship awards and place in the finals and make it to semi-finals at the NYPA and also have troupes in the finals.
Alana loves sharing her passion for dance and performance with students whether it be through dance exams, technical coaching or competition choreography.
