Financial Literacy Workshop 2025 — Recap

Developing Men of Color x Finance Club hosted a powerful workshop focused on real financial growth. From budgeting your first $1,000 to beginner investments, red flags to avoid, and how to build long-term wealth. The room was fully engaged from beginning to end.

Shoutout to our speakers for breaking everything down with clarity and real-world experience. We wrapped up the night with a big group photo and a lot of new motivation.

The person you need to become is harder to build than the business that’s being built. Everything starts with YOU. Once you develop the stronger mind, stronger habits, stronger consistency, stronger faith, everything else figures itself out. Have resilience through the ups and downs, what’s going to separate you from anyone else is that you are going to be willing to go through all the emotions of where you are going & NEVER QUIT!!!!

Resume & Internship Workshop Recap📄!

We had an excellent night of learning and networking at DMC.

We started with a warm welcome from our president, Alan Pan, then our treasurer, Nicos Requizo, broke down the basics of resume writing to set the stage.

Our keynote speaker, Sage Hill from the Internship & Co-op Office [ @oduinternships ], explained what internships are, why they are valuable for advancing our careers, and showed us where to find them along with key resources to connect with the office.

Our second keynote speaker, Otis Williams from the Center for Career & Leadership Development [ @oduccld ], provided a deep dive into the do’s and don’ts of resume writing, giving us insider tips to ensure our resumes stand out to employers.

This interactive session left everyone with stronger resumes, practical knowledge, and the confidence to take the next step toward their professional goals.
