Finally rode up somewhere I feared for years as a cyclist - Shatin Pass since I unclipped, bonked and fell off my bike last time.
My previous attempt was a complete mess due to my mentality back then, but things are different this time around, with a different mindset and a different company.
Thanks @rapha_hongkong and @paulko168 for organising and planning the ride, and hope everyone enjoyed the little hillclimb challenge on the second time we rode up there today.

Expected nothing after catching high fever and cold a week prior and no training 😿
But completed my fastest Cyclothon in 4 years, with PB in power and time 🏅

Special thanks @nathank1m @franciss613 for the 45kmh leadout at the start, avoided major traffic and managed to get ahead of the pack, and as @manlau9129 came to lead, my HR shot up to 201 and I decided to pace myself 😂

Nonetheless, first start with @rapha_hongkong but definitely not the last. We need to arrive at the venue at 1am next time just to be in the front pack. Appreciated the company at the booth with coffee and comfy seats to rest my broken spine 😂

A lot of pretty bloody incidents seen on the road this year, wishing the injured a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

2am wake up call → 3am rolling out → 4am bike pushing (aka 推車節）→ 5am gel → 6am smashing → 7am done and dusted ⏳🥱

1st anniversary special of Ride Like A Rabbit Cycling Club! We partnered with Zone Zero for FUN03, a one-day North Chase Wuling challenge with 4000m total elevation gain. 🏔️ The thin high-altitude air constantly tested every rider’s endurance, especially Ah Yi since he has only been cycling for a few months 😆

SP crashed and got injured halfway, and the bike was heavily damaged. We thought our trip would end here! Thankfully Jacko’s support car stood by us all day, Ah Fai checked and dressed my wounds, Alan and DC repaired the broken bike right away, allowing us to keep going. 🙏

We planned to finish before 3 PM, but the ride dragged on until dusk. Despite painful injuries, SP powered through brutal climbs with sheer willpower, and we were rewarded with an unbelievable sunset sea of clouds.

This ride taught me one thing: strong determination paired with reliable teammates can take us further than we ever imagined. Thank you all for being there 🥹🫶
