• 🧿THE SOCIETY HAS FOUND ITS SOFRA🧿 And one unforgettable night was never going to be enough. After two magical September gatherings, Evil Eye Mahj Society is making itself at home at Alára, where Mediterranean hospitality meets a little Whit & Whimsy. At the heart of Alára is the sofra, the Turkish tradition of gathering around a table to share food, stories, laughter, and connection. And isn’t that exactly what mahjong is all about? With the culinary artistry of Chef Akan, Alára brings a beautiful, modern expression of Mediterranean cuisine to Dallas. Think thoughtfully crafted mezze, vibrant flavors, gorgeous cocktails, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after the last tile is played. We’re bringing our own little magic to the table with a new Thursday evening residency. MEZZE ✦ MAHJ ✦ MISCHIEF 🧿 Thursday, October 22 🪬Thursday, November 19 🕕 6–9 PM 📍 Alára | Dallas Come hungry, bring your lucky charm, and settle in for an evening of beautiful tiles, delicious bites, and even better company. Experienced mahj birds and curious beginners are equally welcome at our table. The sofra is set. The Society awaits. 🪬✨🀄️ 📨 Reserve your seat through the link in bio! #WhitAndWhimsyMahj #EvilEyeMahjSociety #AlaraDallas #DallasMahjong #MezzeAndMahj

THE SOCIETY GATHERED. 🧿✨ Some nights are simply too good not to remember. Evil Eye Mahj Society at Alára brought together everything we love: mahjong around the table, Mediterranean flavors from Chef Akan, something beautiful in your glass, and a room full of people who understand that the best part of Mahj has always been who gathers around it. More Mahj. More mezze. More mischief to come. 🪬✨ #EvilEyeMahjSociety #WhitAndWhimsyMahj #AlaraDallas #DallasMahjong #MahjongDallas

• ONE NIGHT WAS NEVER GOING TO BE ENOUGH. •🪬🌜🪬🌛🪬 The tiles were clicking. The cocktails were flowing. Chef Akan kept the Mediterranean magic coming. And somewhere between the Mahj, the mezze & the mischief… we realized we needed to do this again. And again. This month’s Sunday Sociale at Alára Mediterranean gave us another reason to gather, raise a glass, and keep the Evil Eye magic going. 🧿🀄️ 🀄️ Mahjong 🍸 Cocktails ✨ Mediterranean nights 🧿 A little luck watching over every hand What started as one moonlit evening has become one of our favorite ways to gather. Sunday Sociale was another beautiful chapter. The Society will reconvene soon. Come for the tiles. Stay for the sofra. Return for the Society. Mahj. Mezze. Mischief. ✨ #EvilEyeMahjSociety #WhitAndWhimsyMahj #AlaraMediterranean #DallasMahjong #SundaySociale

• BIRTHDAYS DESERVE A LITTLE EXTRA MAHJIC 🧞‍♀️🌙✨🧞‍♀️ And Carol’s just happened to fall under a very lucky moon. 🧿 What began with Mahjong, mezze and cocktails turned into a birthday celebration we won’t soon forget, complete with a surprise belly dancer 🕯️weaving through the room, music playing, glasses raised and the entire Society joining in. There was dancing between the tables, a little shimmy between the shuffles, and one very special birthday girl at the center of it all. Because when you celebrate with the Evil Eye Mahj Society, we firmly believe you should make a wish, throw the dice… and leave a little room for the unexpected. Happy Birthday, Carol. We loved celebrating you beneath the moonlight. 🔮🌝🔮 And judging by the magic in this room, the Society may have another little surprise up its sleeve very soon… 👁️ #MoonlightInTheLevant #EvilEyeMahjSociety #DallasMahjong #MahjongGirls #WhitAndWhimsyMahj

• THE EVIL EYE WAS WATCHING. THE SOCIETY WAS FEASTING. 🌠🌜🧿🌛🌠 Fresh mezze. Little Loves. Plates from the Old World Flame. Purple cocktails glowing beside the racks. Dessert Drama when we absolutely did not need another bite… but had one anyway. Chef Akan understands something we happen to believe very strongly at Whit & Whimsy: the best tables are never simply about what’s being served. They’re about who gathers around them. And for one jewel-toned evening at Alara, ours were filled with old friends, new friends, clicking tiles, shared plates, belly-dancing birthday mischief and just enough luck to keep everyone playing one more hand. Our latest passport has officially been stamped. 🌙🧿✨ But before the Evil Eye Mahj Society disappears into the moonlight… keep your passport close. We have something very exciting planned for the Society’s next chapter, and you’re going to want a seat at this table. One passport. Many destinations. #MoonlightInTheLevant #EvilEyeMahjSociety #AlaraDallas #DallasMahjong #WhitAndWhimsyMahj

• TILES, TEXTILES & TURKISH DELIGHTS 🀄️🇹🇷🀄️ Pearl racks. Jewel-toned tiles. Tiny lamps glowing over every hand. Evil eyes tucked between the details, with each table telling its own little story. From Mediterranean blues and gilded florals to pink palms, emeralds and a touch of midnight mysticism, Moonlight in the Levant was a reminder that the table can be every bit as memorable as the game played around it. Because at Whit & Whimsy, we don’t simply set out the tiles. We set the scene. 🌙 And once the lamps come on and the tiles begin to click, the Mahjic takes care of the rest. A little luck. A lot of whimsy. And a table always worth taking a seat at. ✨🧿✨ #EvilEyeMahjSociety #MoonlightInTheLevant #MahjongTablescape #DallasMahjong #WhitAndWhimsyMahj

• Evil Eye Mahj Society: Moonlight in the Levant 🌠🌜🧿🌛🌠 Mahj, Mezze & Mischief at Alára Modern Mediterranean | Dallas Design District 1628 Oak Lawn Ave #120 Dallas, TX 75207 Thursday, September 24 | 6–9 PM Our Mediterranean Mahjourney continues, and the evil eye is calling us east once again. For our next passport stop, Whit & Whimsy Mahj invites you to Moonlight in the Levant, a jewel-toned evening of Mahj, mezze and mischief at Alára Modern Mediterranean. Imagine the last shades of sunset melting from gold to rose to violet. Turkish lamps beginning to glow. A table slowly filling with little loves from the kitchen. A brilliant purple Butterflies of Istanbul catching the light beside your rack. Bams, Craks and Dots making their way around the table while something delicious arrives from the fire. At Alára , Chef Akan has created a modern Mediterranean table inspired by the Turkish tradition of the sofra, where friends and family gather not simply to eat, but to linger, share and take care of one another. It feels rather perfect for Mahj. So linger we shall. Begin with Fresh Mezze and a few Little Loves for the table. Follow the scent of the Old World Flame to Levantine Skewers or Adana Kebab Roulade. Order a Butterflies of Istanbul, or perhaps let a Turkish Coffee Martini tell your fortune. Then settle back into your seat because the Charleston is beginning and someone, inevitably, is waiting on a joker. Food and beverages are purchased directly from the restaurant. OPEN PLAY | $30 For those who already know their Bams from their Craks and are ready for three hours of spirited social play. LEARN TO PLAY | $45 Never played? Come sit with us. We’ll guide you through the beautiful, slightly addictive world of American Mahjong. No experience necessary. All Mahjong materials are provided. Come hungry. Dress for the destination. Stay for the Dessert Drama. And keep one eye on your tiles. 🧿 Moonlight in the Levant awaits. 🌙 One passport. Many destinations. A little luck, a lot of whimsy #MoonlightInTheLevant #EvilEyeMahjSociety #AlaraDallas #WhitAndWhimsyMahj

Sunday well spent. We started at Dallas Contemporary for Francisco Moreno Taboada’s Historia Sintética — taking in some incredible work and a little creative inspiration — then made our way to Alara Sociale for food, cocktails, conversation and a room full of Dallas energy. One of my favorite things about building Sana has been the people, places and experiences we’re discovering along the way. Art. Hospitality. Culture. Community. Pull up a chair and see where the night takes you. #sanaderemedios #pullupachair #dallasculture #dallascontemporary #dallasart
