Day 22 - Paint I’m participating in @byjessicaelena lovely #repostyourart April daily challenge! #repostyourart26 #repostyourart26day22 Once again the broad prompts tend to stump me at first! “Paint”!? So many of my artworks are made using it, it feels so open ended! I decided to knuckle down into the paint itself, and some of the most exciting and interesting paint I’ve used: the 1930’s Polish watercolours from @alargeaviary!! Klara sent me this beautiful set and I have adored it ever since, the blues especially are some of my favourite I’ve ever used! I think this is also my favourite illustration I’ve made using the set (though I have made quite a few)! You can check out @alargeaviary to see the watercolours I am talking about, and I will also share some reels to my stories showing them now! Image Description: Photo One is a watercolour illustration of a femme character in a blue dress and orange hair wearing a white fluffy head-encompassing hat swinging happily off the stem of a fluffy dandelion, with dandelion leaves about, wafting dandelion seeds in the air and a dreamy soft blue watercolour background. Day 2 - Kite 🪁 I’ve had this spesh piece (and a handful of others) of @dodgy.paper “cloud” paper waiting for the perfect use, and I thought this was it! It’s been a long time between collage seshs (but it used to be my main go to for illustration! Anyone here from that time? Circa 2009-12 ish!) @flarafeler poprowadziła warsztaty introligatorskie, pokazała nam jak zszyć papier który czerpaliśmy w zeszyt/szkicownik/pamiętnik! Niektórzy użyli też materiałów Klary (była świetnie przygotowana) 💕 Klarę znam już trochę czasu, byłam u niej na warsztatach z tarota i mega imponuje mi jej cierpliwość, zaangażowanie i profesjonalne podejście do tematu. @flarafeler sama również prowadzi u siebie kreatywną przestrzeń "Bałagan" zajrzyjcie koniecznie🌷✨ zdjęcia: @damian_cieplowski

dzień dobry! chciałabym zaprosić cię na spotkanie towarzyskie, kreatywną ucztę! kiedy?: 26 lipca (sobota) 14:00-20:00 gdzie?: na wsi, niecałą godzinę od warszawki niedaleko sochaczewa po co?: by odpoczać, poznać się, kreatywnie spędzić czas, najeść się i napić! podczas spotkania poprowadzę warsztaty z tworzenia papieru ze starego zużytego papieru 🫣a klara nauczy was samodzielnie szyć zeszyty (@alargeaviary zobaczcie- to profesjonalistka!) głodni nie będzie bo zrobię grilla (rzadko robię jedzenie ale jak już robię to wychodzi super💚) koszt to 30zł (przeznaczone na jedzenie i materiały) zapraszam ✨

A Cosy Time ✨🖼️🍄🌿 Probably my last painting of 2024, a little wibbly sweet piece for my dear @yesjackiemadethis on her birthday! Not much to say except that it was a joy (as always) to pull out my paints after too long between (thanks @alargeaviary for the gorgeous vintage Polish watercolours which have been my regular go to paints of choice for the last little while) and a joy to use them to make something small and sweet for a friend! ♥️ Image Description: a cute and naive watercolour and coloured pencil illustration of a fat toadstool mushroom with a cross section cut out in the stem revealing a femme character in a red hood inside sitting cosy under a big colourful patchwork quilt holding a steaming cup of hot beverage and a cat sleeping nearby. #peachtober24 Day 2: Sparkle ✨ It’s a redraw! I’ve been wanting to redo/reinterpret a handful of my older illustrations lately, and @peachtober feels like a good excuse to play with some of them! Swipe to see “Happy Tank”, the precursor to this artwork (which I just checked was from 2014… 10 years ago!! 😱). The original is still really cute but I really like this little updated take, too! I used Quink ink and @alargeaviary vintage polish watercolours Arches watercolour paper 🪐 #peachtober #peachtober24sparkle Image Description: Photo 1 is a painting of a cute stumpy femme character wearing a long puff sleeved dress with bare legs floating in a dark inky space full of stars with a clear round sphere encompassing their head which is colourful inside and filled with plants and flowers, unlike the area around it which is muted and desaturated. Image two is a similar painting but the character is a lanky masc character. Image 3-4 are the same painting from photo 1 from different angles/further back showing some paintbrushes and paint palette nearby.

The results from some sketchbook musing the other day… I was trying to be loose-ISH to begin with in an attempt to not care to much about the result (because my illustration work usually ends up better when this is the case) but still spent some time to refine in the end, and had a nice time and I kinda like it too. I really want to get back into spending more time sketchbooking in general, because the best ideas usually come from there and I haven’t been keeping it up as a ritual… ANYWAY BUBBLES! 🫧 Image Description: photo 1 is a watercolour gouache and colour pencil illustration with a messy painterly soft blue-green background and a femme character with pink hair up in two buns wearing a white and red dress, a red pointed hat tied with a bow at their chin, standing and blowing colourful shiny bubbles in the middle. There are loose specks and stars wafting around amongst the bubbles. Photo 2-4 are of the same illustration from different angles and/or from further back, revealing the painting has been done on the page of a sketchbook, with a paint palette and coloured pencils strewn about.
