Thank you to every department who showed up and built that world, and to @AllieTeilz, whose song gave us both the inspiration and the sound.

Yesterday afternoon, Malibu. 🌊

John Cameron Mitchell closed the afternoon with Midnight Radio, and the room went somewhere else entirely. Twenty-five years of this film, and it still lands like the first time.

Thank you to John and to Sean Liljequist. ✨️ To Jeremy Wein and THISMYSHOW Presents for trusting us with this one. To Imani Denson Pittman on merch. ✨️ To Arlene and Dick Van Dyke for a theatre that already feels like a home for this kind of night. ✨️ To the Malibu Film Society and Arianna Kenig, and to the LA County Library.

To my crew, who make these days work: Technical Director Tim Jones, Rhonda & Dave, Jason Z Cohen, Mira Montez, Nicolas Sylvestre on Sound, Taylor Maupin and Sloane. And to the staff at the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District for opening the doors and helping us at every turn.

And to friends, fans, and misfits who drove out, came in costume, and sang along. That was the whole point.

More photos coming. 📸

This is the beginning of something in Malibu. 💜

#bliss ⛺️ "When you just happen to basically exactly match the fan art portrait behind you … down to the microphone, heart glasses, Bootsy Poppins the pup and all!" says photographer Laura Johansen of ALaura Designs. 🎤💕🐾 Sometimes the universe winks, and yesterday it winked hard.

What a day. The Seafoam Circus washed ashore at Aviator Nation Dreamland, then the joy rolled up the hill to Vandy Manor for New Orleans Jazz & Bijou Box Bingo at the home of Dick & Arlene Van Dyke — hosted by our beloved Arlene with longtime friend Stu Shostak, tunes by Matt Von Roderick & his New Orleans Jazz Trio, and a surprise visit from the one and only Paula Poundstone (!!).

Every ticket helped support the future Dick Van Dyke Museum — a longtime dream of Arlene's. Our journey is just beginning. ✨

And this is just a preview... more photos on the way. 📸

We always knew Norway was magical, but finding a one-man-band in the style of Bert from Mary Poppins on the streets of Trondheim was extra special for Norway’s National Day! Atlas asked if he really was @official_dick_van_dyke 🎠☂️🦯

I am never leaving this group of actors. Spinning ideas with Susan Stroman and David Zippel and sharing our separate theatre stories and appreciating the brilliance of my costars. Heaven. We are having so much fun. Lucky those of you who snagged seats.

BETTER LATE at The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre. Three shows only. May 1st-2nd.

When you’re just minding your own business, jamming away to the music and suddenly find Herb Alpert introducing himself…

“Gotta keep moving!”

Congratulations to all for yesterday’s event, the groundbreaking of the new Malibu Urgent Care!
