🏆 FROM WORLD SERIES CHAMPION TO DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION.

From making history with the Chicago Cubs in 2016 to building something meaningful right here in Chicagoland.

For Albert Almora Jr., baseball has always been more than a game. It’s been a lifetime of lessons, opportunities, challenges, and experiences that shaped who he is today.

And now, it’s about giving those lessons back.

Recently featured on ABC7 Chicago, Albert shared the vision behind VeloCity and his passion for helping develop the next generation of athletes.

After years of competing at the highest level, he understands that becoming a great baseball player takes far more than talent.

It takes preparation. Discipline. Consistency. Resilience. Confidence. And the ability to overcome adversity, handle failure, and continue showing up when things get difficult.

That’s the foundation of everything we’re building at VeloCity.

We’re not here to offer just another baseball lesson.
We’re creating an environment where young athletes can receive comprehensive development through individualized baseball instruction, strength and conditioning, nutrition, mindset training, and mentorship from people who understand what it takes to compete at the highest level.

And while measurable improvements in performance are important, the impact we hope to make goes far beyond numbers.

It’s about helping athletes believe in themselves, develop strong habits, build character, and carry those lessons with them long after their playing days are over.

❤️ AND OUR MISSION IS ONLY GETTING BIGGER.
We’re also excited to share that we are in the process of establishing the Almora Family Foundation, an initiative close to our hearts.

Our vision is simple but incredibly meaningful: Every child deserves an opportunity to develop their potential, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Through the foundation, we hope to create opportunities for underserved and financially disadvantaged young athletes to access the same high-quality baseball development, mentorship, and resources available at VeloCity.

Because talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn’t always.

⚡️ ELITE TECHNOLOGY. NEXT-LEVEL DEVELOPMENT.

Not every baseball facility has a Proteus Motion system — and we’re incredibly proud to offer this cutting-edge technology to our athletes at VeloCity!

But what makes it so special? ⚾️

Proteus uses advanced 3D resistance technology to help athletes train, measure, and improve strength, speed, power, and movement efficiency.

🔥 FOR PITCHERS: Develop rotational power, shoulder strength, arm control, and throwing-specific strength.

⚾️ FOR HITTERS: Build explosive rotational power and strength to support bat speed and hitting performance.

💪 FOR POSITION PLAYERS: Improve throwing strength, full-body power, explosiveness, and movement control.

🔄 FOR ARM CARE & RECOVERY-FOCUSED TRAINING: Utilize adjustable, low-impact resistance to support controlled strengthening and supervised rehabilitation.

📊 FOR ALL ATHLETES: Identify strength and power imbalances, track measurable progress, and make more informed training decisions.

At VeloCity, we’re not just investing in equipment. We’re investing in the future of our athletes.

We believe young athletes deserve access to the same caliber of technology used in elite professional training environments.

Because development shouldn’t be a guessing game. It should be intentional, measurable, and built for long-term success.

It was #OTD in 2017 the #Cubs beat the Nationals 2-1 in Game 3 of the NLDS. Jose Quintana went 5 2/3 giving up an unearned run on a two error play by Kyle Schwarber. Max Scherzer gave up only one hit in 6 1/3, a double to Ben Zobrist. Albert Almora tied the game at 1 with an RBI single and Anthony Rizzo got the winning hit in the 8th, demanding that the Nationals respect him as the Cubs went up 2-1 in the NLDS!

CHAMPIONS. 🏆🔥

CONGRATS to our VeloCity 10U team who went undefeated and brought home the championship!

We’re proud of the result, but even more proud of what it represents.

At VeloCity, development goes far beyond what happens on game day. It’s about preparation, consistency, repetition, discipline, and learning how to compete the right way. These boys continue to show up, put the work in, learn from their coaches, challenge themselves, and build confidence through preparation.

Championships are won on the field, but they’re built long before the first pitch .. through the everyday work when no one is watching.

This weekend was a reflection of that work. The boys competed for one another, stayed together, trusted their preparation, and finished the fall season UNDEFEATED.

Proud of this group and excited to keep developing them, because at VeloCity, the goal isn’t just to win today. It’s to build better baseball players for the long term. ⚾️💪🏽#

Preparation. Consistency. Development. Results.

⚾🏓 CAPTAIN SPOTLIGHT: Albert Almora Jr. 🌟 12th Annual Ping Pong Ball - Nov. 6, 2026

You know the name. You remember the moment. Albert Almora Jr. — former first-round draft pick, 2016 World Series champion with the Chicago Cubs, and a player who helped bring a title back to the North Side for the first time in 108 years.

Now he’s stepping up to a different kind of table.

We’re thrilled to announce Albert as one of our celebrity captains for the 12th Annual Ping Pong Ball on Friday, November 6 at @wearespin! Since hanging up his cleats, Almora has stayed rooted in Chicago — opening a training center and dedicating himself to mentoring the next generation of young athletes. He’s bringing that same fire, heart, and competitive edge to the table for an incredible cause.

At the Ping Pong Ball, each March Madness-style tournament bracket is led by a celebrity captain — your coach, your umpire, and your biggest fan throughout the competition. Sports and media legends from across Chicago will battle it out alongside guests for the championship title — all to raise critical funds for NICU families. This is followed by touching messages about our mission, a live auction, and so much more.

Every dollar raised provides complimentary hospital parking so parents of critically ill babies can be where they need to be most — right by their baby’s side.

🔥 Early Bird Tickets — $200 (going fast, while supplies last!)
