Born and raised in Kenya, Albert Mwangi grew up with a love for movies, storytelling and the wonderful possibilities of imagination. Today, that same little boy is living a dream that once felt so far away.

Albert’s journey wasn’t always destined for the spotlight. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Kenya, he moved to Australia, where he earned two master’s degrees in Marketing and International Business at Queensland University of Technology.

But deep down, his heart was calling him somewhere else.

At 25, Albert made the courageous decision to follow his passion for acting, eventually earning a place at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2020.

His dedication opened beautiful doors. In 2021, he was recognised as a Casting Guild of Australia Rising Star, before building an impressive career across television, film and theatre, including Tom Swift, With or Without You and Primary Trust.

And now, another beautiful chapter begins as Albert joins the beloved children’s television program Play School as a new presenter.

What makes Albert’s journey so special is knowing that the little boy who once found joy in stories is now helping create those same magical moments for a new generation of children, bringing smiles, laughter and a little piece of his own childhood dreams along the way.

Congratulations, Albert! What a wonderful achievement and an inspiring journey to celebrate.

One last place left for a Participant (who works on a scene or monologue) in my upcoming Sydney 2 day acting workshop on Sun 13th & Sun 20th September, 9.30am to 7pm both days. Also several places available for Active Auditors (observers who are involved in practical acting and success mindset building exercises that the whole class do). Email brandonhero@yahoo.com.au to apply and if you’re new to working with me, send your CV, 2 contrasting headshots and if you have some, examples of your acting (self-tapes, showreel). Over more than 32 years, I’ve been blessed to teach/coach/mentor thousands of actors and directors all over Australia and overseas. They are working in Hollywood movies and TV, on Broadway and the West End, and in film, TV, theatre, musical theatre and voice over around the world. In a safe, supportive environment, develop your emotional accessibility, create passionate, truthful performances and characters that viewers barrack for, nurture a mindset that gives you confidence, joy and self esteem as you step up in your career and craft.
