This is year number 2 where we each purchase a fun tree ornament. This ornament is to represent something about us as a person for the current year. It may be something new you tried, it may be a different stage in your life, but it represents you.

Well, here we are; One year later at Central and God has done just about everything but reveal His face to prove that Heā€™s been working the whole time. If you havenā€™t read Ashlynā€™s post about this same topic, please do; She said it better than I could. But to add just a few simple thoughts to thatā€¦ ā€¢ Today at church, Ash and I were talking to Jax about his behavior in kids church. Heā€™s not a bad kid by any definition, but all 8 year olds eventually act out here and there, but regardless, while speaking with him about it all, I just casually bring up the fact that itā€™s not just about gold behavior alone, but about his example to so many other kids, especially on a busy day with a lot of guests like Easter, and I told him ā€œJaxon, last year you were the new kid, this year you get to set the temperature for other new kids and you have no clue who might walk in that door.ā€ ā€¢ The truth is I had forgotten a bit of who I was when I walked in those doors a year and a few weeks before today. We still believe that God brought us to DFW for a purpose, but sometimes that purpose doesnā€™t feel or look like you thought it might, and thatā€™s okay. (Just ask Christian Brothers Auto haha!) If you had it all figured out prior to stepping into the journey, you likely wouldnā€™t take the first step at all. But despite all things, the only word I can say that describes our disposition here and now is ā€œThankful.ā€ ā€¢ Thankful for amazing Pastors, leaders, influences and friends like weā€™ve never known before. Thankful for the heartbeat of worship that permeates each ministry in the church. Thankful for an equivalent balance in specifically our worship team between talent, anointing, humility, and excellence. Thankful for community and identity in Christ and His people. Thankful for a wife who loves God and loves to serve with everything she has within her. And while weā€™re at it, Iā€™m thankful for the pain, and the seasons of not knowing, and the relentless Grace God has shown in the midst of storms. Do we have all the answers here and now? Not even close. But we are thankful. Thankful for His resurrection, and newness of life for my family. ā€¢ ā€œOh praise the One, who would reach for me.ā€

If you miss First Wednesday at Central Church, youā€™re truly missing an experience. Tonight, for whatever reason, my technology didnā€™t cooperate, and my iPhone ended up capturing the moment straight from the room instead of my Avion in-ear feed. And honestly? Iā€™m glad it did. The presence and moving of the spirit, beautiful harmonies and the powerful words sung with such anointing , and wow the masterful mix from the FOH by the one and only @dadjohny ā€”it all came together in a way that was absolutely moving. Thereā€™s nothing like being in the room, feeling the moment wash over you, and experiencing worship on another level. Donā€™t miss it next time. Itā€™s something special. #FirstWednesdays @centralchurchplano

Always on time, beautifully vocalized by @alchelest and the @centralchurchplano worship team. A year ago, I knew the words, heard them often..but wasnā€™t sure if they were for me. I held on to them in faith, believing they meant something even when I couldnā€™t fully grasp how or why; I repeated them, tried to continue trusting them, and clung to them in uncertainty. This year, hindsight is teaching me what faith truly looks likeā€”not just in words but in experience. Faith isnā€™t about understanding everything in the moment. Itā€™s about moving forward even when nothing makes sense, when the outcome is unclear, when the waiting feels endless. Itā€™s about trusting that what is meant will come, and what isnā€™t will fall away, even when it hurts. Iā€™m starting to see that faith is strongest when itā€™s hardest to hold on to. And looking back, I realizeā€”it was working all along.
