For the guest bathroom at the Danville Summer Hill House, we enlarged the entire footprint by removing a redundant hallway that served no functional purpose. The design drew inspiration from a beautiful speckled glazed tile the owner loved @holymoly1018

We stacked the tile vertically to draw the eye upward and maximize the sense of height, letting the shifting daylight from the window catch the variation in the glaze throughout the day. Not only this space, but the entire project is designed from the inside out, solving the spatial puzzle first, then letting a highly tactile material drive the design and the experience.
