Good morning, World! Somedays I only get a few minutes of me time, so i fit in a quick sketch or a few minutes of knitting. Thanks to @aldarapurvis and @karen2dogs , lately I've been on a sketchbook kick, so I revived the practice of five and ten minutes sketches. Enjoy, have a great day, and you do you!

You can run in your own race, imma go at my own pace🐌🏁

4 months ago, I had no idea that a song was numerous layers of sounds placed on top of each other.

In the past two months of working on this song, @aldarapurvis and I have literally gone bit by bit to create each section of this song. We started with the intro, then I added the first verse and chorus. Then we added more instruments- placing them where we wanted to have effects that made us scream with joy. Each detail of this song, carefully crafted with the knowing that this song’s direction could go anywhere, at anytime.

For that, I’m glad this song is repeats the mantra to me, “if I go slowly, then I know what’s right for me.”

Not rushing this song has meant I can say yes to things I love, and no to things that don’t light me up. (It’s also potentially led to some overthinking- but easily soothed by the lyrics once more.)

“Then I’ll know, what’s right for me.”

🐢

With ease,
Jeaux

Stressed? Break out in song☺️✨

My friend sounds like a Disney princess irl, and it’s a blessing to listen to.

I’ve shed a lot of friends in my life in the past 10 years, but I see all the lessons that it brought me to learn how to love more authentically.

And in case your wondering, yes, we got the right system to work ⚙️☺️

My screams of joy are my favorite animal🐆

*sneak peak of the song at the end*☺️

“If I go Slowly” is a song about returning to a familiar place to heal, only to get further than you’ve ever gotten.

My hopes is that this song will help us remember that sometimes the steps forward are actually not steps at all, but stillness.
Bravery to visit the past,
to sit in it,
then slowly shift it
may be life-changing in ways unexpected.

“If I go Slowly” ~ coming soon ☺️🫶🏽

My music production~ Behind the Scenes 🎬

Slowly, I’m learning to have more fun.
To leave perfection outside of the studio door.
To bring my full self into the room.
And to celebrate everything I learn and love.

Are y’all excited to hear the song?☺️

Thank you @aldarapurvis for supporting me on this journey 🫶🏽

Never experienced anything like THIS🥲

I’ve performed on stage before, but there is nothing like watching people you are inspired by receive your art in REAL TIME. 🥹

It’s vulnerable, it’s invigorating, and it’s a feeling I hope to allow myself to continue having.

I’m beyond grateful to be working with incredible people who love music, and I hope everyone has this feeling at least once in their lives.

I almost waited a few more weeks to release ANYTHING about this process, but I’m starting to see that this is a single slice of what may bring peace to our world again~ watching people go for the things that scare them, rather than running from them.

Thank you @aldarapurvis for helping me do something I’ve always wanted to do, and made the wait well worth it 🥲🫶🏽🐌

Have you ever wondered what your instructors do between lessons? Aldara doesn't just teach. She is the Queen of it all! Between lessons, she helps EVERYONE with mixing, mastering, recording, you name it. If there is a part needed, she is there. Every music studio needs an Aldara but few are lucky enough to have one!

LOVE MUSIC! PLAY BETTER TOGETHER!

Good morning, World! Sometimes, after the last student leaves, we stay behind and sing in the lobby. Friday night it was, "Dancing Barefoot" by Patti Smith (the greatest, the legend). Enjoy! Y'all ha a great day and you do you!

Good morning, World! Please do me a favor and go check out my new single, "June Thirteenth." Its available on all platforms for streaming and download. @aldarapurvis and I worked hard to put this one together. The first version of this song came out a year ago on Rehearsal Room Records and was produced by the amazing @keetoncoffman . He killed it and created a beautiful song! I was afraid to tell anyone I wrote it because people can be cruel and judgemental, but over the year, as people have found it and reached out to let me know they love it, my confidence in myself grew. Those words helped me push off my self doubt and go back in the studio to finish the EP I've been recording for a few years, and also try my hands at recording "June Thirteenth" in a way that made it fit with all the other songs...and I'm glad i did, because now I have two different takes on a song i wrote that I love equally. Both share space in my heart. Thank you for listening, keep your ears open for the upcoming EP, have a great day and you do you!
