Welcome to……SCARY GIRLS! 💀🩸🎃🔪

After launching our inaugural showcase, FUNNY GIRLS—with 10 comedic shorts directed by women & nonbinary artists, a panel of trailblazing industry moguls, and over 100 industry attendees—we’re thrilled to bring our community together again ~ this time with a spooky twist! 👻

At the heart of our showcase series is community: championing each other’s work, finding your next collaborator, and lifting each other up. SCARY GIRLS continues that mission by celebrating women and gender expansive filmmakers whose bold visions, wicked humor, and fearless storytelling deserve the spotlight.

Get ready for short films that will make you laugh, scream, or ideally…. both at the same time!

🎃🎬 Meet the lineup:

WALL UDDER — directed by Alexandra Hayden
BEDFUCK — directed by Lizzy McGroder & Dice Rose
BOUNCE HOUSE — directed by Callie Bloem & Chris Ewing
OPEN WIDE — directed by Sam Fox
SKIN — directed by Urvashi Pathania
TRANZ PANIC! — directed by Love Bailey & Matt Boman
KANDIE — directed by Jasmine Osean Thomas
BURNT ORANGE — directed by Sharmila Ray
DEBBIE WALKS HER DUCK — directed by Nikki Braendlin
DADDA — directed by Aimee Hoffman

💀💜 Special Honorees — To Be Announced:
We’ll also be celebrating inspiring industry voices in comedy and horror with a special awards presentation. Stay tuned for that official announcement.

In addition to independent film, DesiMo Productions is seasoned in creating dynamic experiential networking events that bring filmmakers, artists, audiences and industry leaders together! 💫🎬

At Sundance 2025, we hosted an immersive Après-Ski themed event inspired by our horror-dark comedy short film, THE BLUE DIAMOND—complete with chalet-inspired VIBES, KARAO-SKI, meaningful networking and connections, and plenty of mountain magic. 💎⛷️❄️

At DesiMo, we don’t just tell stories—we build communities around them.

We can’t wait to see you on the slopes for our next upcoming event!

I love being in rooms where people are really creating.

Funny Girls was a short film showcase celebrating women in comedy at The London West Hollywood that felt intimate, smart, and of course, ridiculously funny — full of women shaping what comedy gets to look like next.
