“I am so excited to help fund and support all of our amazing SWE events throughout the year! I have loved being involved with SWE over the past two years, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to give back to this organization and my SWEsters. I can’t wait to work alongside our officers to bring their ideas to life, especially through our outreach initiatives and the impact they have on our community.

I am so excited to meet all of our SWEsters, both returning or new! I can’t wait to see everyone at all our amazing events this year, whether it’s our professional development, social, community service, or outreach initiatives. It’s going to be an amazing year with the organization, and I can’t wait to be part of our community’s impact!”

👭 Sister Advice:

Never be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone, even if you don’t feel 100% ready! You’ll learn to grow, adapt, and even fail along the way, and all of those experiences will help you become a stronger engineer and person. In SWE, we want to see all of you grow to be the best engineers you can be, so never be afraid to try something new and put yourself out there!

☀️ Summer Spotlight: Aleea Best

This summer Aleea is working as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at GE Aerospace. She is also our 26-27 Treasurer!

“This summer, I am a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at GE Aerospace! I am involved with developing thermal spray processes for repair engines that will be sent to our global MRO shops. In my role, I am standardizing manufacturing processes, working with robotics and automation equipment, and assisting with performing sprays and metallographical evaluations for engine components. I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to be hands-on in the shop and work with real engine hardware!”

Years 1 and 2 ✅

It’s hard to fit 2 years into a post but here we are :). So many doors have opened and closed these past 2 years, and i’ve never been more grateful. I’ve met some pretty great people along the way, made amazing friendships, lifelong memories, learned many lessons, had some amazing opportunities, began my journey further with the lord, dove deeper into my passion, and found my home away from home. Despite all of the change, stress, anxieties, heartbreak, and trials and tribulations i’ve encountered along the way… i’ve never gave up. I couldn’t have done it all without my friends, family, or the lord . I love you all, thank you for being by my side through it all, im truly so blessed. I could be more proud of all of my accomplishments and how far i’ve come. Though I miss the pride, and wvu, I can’t wait to see what god has in store for me in my upcoming seasons, and my current one. I know this is the path im meant to be on, at my home among the hills :) soo… same time next year? 🤍🎶🫶✝️💕📚
