I'm a little late posting, but Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful and strong Mom. I've always been a handful and a troublemaker, and somehow she managed not to strangle me. (Yet.)

Love you, Mom.

This photo was taken in 2015, shortly after I had a remarkable encounter with an older man who stopped me while I was playing to exclaim, "That's Estrellita! That was Heifetz's first transcription!"

I responded something like, "Yes, yes, that's really cool that you know that. Random. How do you know that?"

"I *should* know! I studied with Heifetz. I have to tell Sherry Kloss about this."

Dumbfounded, I watched as he pulled out a little flip phone and located Heifetz's teaching assistant--Sherry Kloss--in his contacts.

The phone rang on the other end but ultimately went to her answering machine.

Barely thirty seconds later, an A train rolled in, and the man shouted over the noise, "I'm sorry, I have to go! My train!"

It put me in such a good mood I asked a stranger to take this pic. And no, I wasn't violining while standing on the big feets.
