There’s a version of freedom that doesn’t come from being chosen, needed, or relied on.

It comes from learning how to sit with yourself without reaching for usefulness as proof of worth. For so many, stillness feels unfamiliar… even unsafe.

Not because we’re lazy, but because we’ve been praised for being indispensable.

This season isn’t about doing less to be dramatic. It’s about discovering who you are when you’re not managing, rescuing, or holding it all together.
And trusting that she is already enough.

I was texting my daughter earlier, and she casually mentions when I ask how her day is going, that she is in another state on business. Why did I have to remind this girl I'm a proud founding member of the Helicopter-Mom-Auntie-Big-Sister-Eldest-Daughter Union Local #1, and baby, I don’t do surprises. I need info early, or these propellers gon’ whirrrr, 🚁🚁and next thing you know I’m in everybody’s business with snacks, solutions, and calling girl @sherrodhocutt to create the spreadsheet with tabs for each person now involved in the mission. Is this too much to ask to keep me on the ground? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Geez! 😆😅 #luvthesepeopleimade

Turned 37 on Saturday, and it deserved its own post. I got to spend it with my faves, laughing and having a ball….i’m still floating on cloud 9 from such a great night.

I started the holiday season somewhat depressed (crazy I know) and after a LONG talk with God about how I wanted my year to end, a lot of wonderful things started happening. Praise God!!!!

I’m looking forward to all the beauty 2025 has to offer myself and the ones I hold nearest to my heart.❤️

Of course I’ve been asked the question “Do you feel different?”. My answer at first was NO, why would I feel different. Then I realized, I didn’t feel different because since day one Ted has always treated me as his wife.
