Cheers Sezer for the chat!

I spoke to @sezd_ , a 22-year-old Architecture student at the University of Cambridge. Born in Enfield, London and now based in Cambridge.

We rode side by side - me on my e-scooter, him on his skateboard - talking about Cambridge tutors using AI, skateboarding… and witnessed a leaky Rubicon bottle along the way.

handle bars is a year old 🛴

a year ago i was just scootering about, rapping along to my favourite tracks. that habit ended up turning into this.

at the start, no rappers wanted to do it. i spent a whole month trying to get just one person on board. sometimes it still feels like we’re on the outside of the rap scene looking in - and maybe that’s why it works.

starting a music platform from scratch with zero experience isn’t easy. there’s no funding, no blueprint, no infrastructure. it’s just been me figuring things out as i go.

i didn’t know if this would work. most days, i still don’t.
but i keep filming anyway.

big love to everyone who’s supported so far - and to anyone who’s just come across handle bars. rap has always been diy, and this really is that.

this one’s for the outsiders.

@thegrimejournalist had a sick idea - a freestyle on a penny-farthing.

we helped bring it to life.

first artist (and definitely the first rapper) to perform on a penny-farthing… history !

big thanks to @pennyfarthingclub and neil for lending the bikes + showing us the ropes.

off the handle w/ @oopsyseason 🚲

we linked up with the king of outrageous punchlines- canterbury’s own drake, oopsy. he took us around his adopted home of manchester, and this blooper reel includes: nearly getting hit by a car, struggling to put headphones on before his freestyle, his idea of a night out, chatting about his lyrics… and generally just messing about while having a good ol’ chat on bikes
