Today I introduce @_loonauniverse’s 64th collaboration: @vonsono, a project that speaks to what, for me, is true luxury. Every decision, from the yarn to the weave, from the dye to the workshop, is made with complete ethical awareness. This is where Loona and Sono meet, walking the same path: to dress beautifully while honoring Earth.
🟢 What you will find: recycled wool from recovered knitwear, spun and woven in Tuscany; organic cotton denim dyed with natural pigments, its color irregular and unique in every piece; linen and wool twills that hold warmth and fall with weight on the body; fine merino from a small family workshop in Carpi; and wool in its natural color, spun in Biella with hydroelectric power.
🟢 The palette: blue, black, charcoal, navy, red and bark.

Since the very beginning, this has been at the root of @_loonauniverse: we do not use animal skin of any kind in any collaboration or project.

When we work with wool, we do so only when we know where it comes from and that the sheep are loved, cared for, and respected throughout their lives. Wool-bearing sheep, such as merinos, generally need to be shorn once a year. Their wool grows continuously, and shearing, when done with care and by skilled hands, is part of their well-being.
From this act of care comes an extraordinary fiber: natural, renewable, biodegradable, and made to remain with us for a lifetime.

But care cannot exist in only one part of the process. It means weaving together the entire chain: those who tend the animals and produce the fibers, those who transform them into yarn, and the textile makers, independent designers, artists, and artisans who bring each piece to life. These forms of knowledge and craft need to be connected, supported, and sustained by a shared vision that creates value and a livelihood for everyone involved.

This is the case with @maydi_atelier (@_loonauniverse’s Collaboration 63), which works with @wildlifefriendly certified merino wool and mohair from Patagonia, where production coexists with native wildlife and protects its habitats.

I believe that projects rooted in love and respect for all living beings have the power to transform society from its deepest foundations and create a world centered on caring for every being with whom we share Earth.

🐏 🐊🦬 We are not at the center, nor are we above any other form of life. We are part of Earth’s living whole.

Bienvenida a Loona, Argelia.

🌖 After a month of pause, @_loonauniverse is back, as always, with the new moon, and today, under a solar eclipse.

And we welcome Collaboration 62, “Where Flowers Are Born,” x @argeliamatus.
Argelia Matus, an artist from Oaxaca, transforms jícaras made from the calabash fruit, deeply connected to everyday life and Mexican tradition. For centuries, jícaras have been part of kitchens across southern Mexico, used as plates, cups, and spoons.

Each bag is a unique piece, made entirely by hand. The jícaras are individually painted by Argelia with scenes of women, flowers, roots, and elements of nature. They are then incorporated into cotton bags, dyed with natural dyes such as cochineal and finished with the same care.

Objects to use, care for, and preserve.
Welcome to Loona, Argelia.

*Note: Not all brands produce Tencel responsibly, as it can involve more aggressive chemical processes depending on production. In this case, it comes from a certified source with conscious standards.
