Thank you for spending summer with me

one day, in the middle of a show, i looked around at all of my friends and thought, “one day, all of this could be gone. i could lose all of this in a heartbeat” and immediately started breaking down. i almost forgot how important it is to take a step back and breathe during the chaos that is life, but that moment made me realize just how much i have to be thankful for despite all the things i don’t have figured out yet.

26 was the most transformative year i’ve had. i’ve struggled a long time searching around for a space where i belong and feel appreciated. drifting from group to group, leaving the place i called home, showing up to everything and everywhere just to feel seen.

but along the way, i somehow built a life with so many people and things i’m grateful for. from random facetime catch ups with friends, to brief yet fulfilling weekends in another state, to late night talks, to stupid banter with friends and family, i’ve realized that even the littlest things can mean so much.

it’s so easy to get caught up in what we don’t have and what’s going wrong in our lives, but i truly believe that remembering what you do have (no matter how much or how little) can be a monumental spark in a wildfire. i’ve gone from feeling like i have nothing to recognizing that everything and everyone i need, is already here.

i’ve never felt so much love. so much gratitude. so much appreciation for where i’m at and where i can go. all thanks to people like you and the people in this post. i think i’ve made little teenage aaron so proud and will continue to make him proud, because i owe it to him. so, thank you. i’m excited for what’s next and hope you are too :)

p.s. sorry i can only fit 20 photos per post and i can’t tag everyone so. if we’ve ever crossed paths, you’re still in my mind and heart!
