KOHTI TUHOA’s first single of their new LP is out today. Pre-order at Bandcamp or webstore. Full album Octobet 23rd. Check it out!

MUS347 KOHTI TUHOA - Paratiisi LP/CD

It’s rare for a hardcore punk band to make four full-length albums, and rarer still for the fourth album to be the band’s masterpiece. Yet Paratiisi, the fourth album from Helsinki punks Kohti Tuhoa, stands as the undeniable coup de grâce of a catalog overflowing with classic hardcore punk. If you’re already a fan, it’ll comfort you to know Paratiisi leans heavily on the strengths Kohti Tuhoa has possessed since their earliest releases: a timeless sound that combines UK82 drive and hooks with dramatic metal flourishes; a captivating vocalist with the perfect balance of grit and clarity, who can both howl like a banshee and carry a tune; and a particularly Finnish way with a driving, medium-fast tempo. But for all the continuities with Kohti Tuhoa’s excellent previous records, Paratiisi almost feels like the work of a new band. The riffs and choruses that anchor the album are impossibly catchy; Paratiisi bulges with huge moments that practically force you to air guitar and sing along (even if you don’t speak a word of Finnish), the band’s peerless chops and the rich and clear recording driving these climaxes to dizzying highs. But while the hooks are memorable, there isn’t a moment on Paratiisi that feels dumbed-down or overly familiar. In fact, the album feels notably ambitious, pulling influences from across punk’s historical and aesthetic breadth and digesting them seamlessly into Kohti Tuhoa’s distinctive sound. @sorrystate

Back home from Kohti Tuhoa / Bombardement Nordic Tour, so here’s a random photo dump from the past couple weeks. Had such a great time touring the northern parts of Europe with Bordeaux’s finest D-beat connoisseurs, and it was truly an honor to share the stage with them every night. Thanks for the tour, miss you already! Hope we get to tour with this lineup again sometime soon.

Also, huge thanks to everyone who booked a show, cooked for us, gave us a place to stay, picked up merch and had a good time with us in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Posting these again since there were a couple updates in the lineup. Unfortunately Kieltolaki can’t make it so MAAILMANLOPPU will play the show in Turku instead. Also, FORCED HUMILITY will be joining the lineup in Helsinki. The shows are only a month away, so better mark your calendar if you didn’t do that yet. Tsuyama punk legends SKIZOPHRENIA! don’t come here often so its definitely something you don’t wanna miss!

I remember being hooked the moment I heard their first 7”, and a couple years later their next EP ”This f***ing Skizophrenia!…” completely blew me away. As I said before it always feels special to get touring bands here, and it’s even better if they play weekend dates. On top of that there’s a pretty solid lineup at every show here, so it doesn’t get much better than this.

Here’s the details:

14.8.2025 Tampere, Vastavirta

The Finnish leg of KRIEGSHÖG’s tour is now finished, and I’m back home trying to understand what just happened. Sold out shows in both Helsinki and Tampere, and a really good turnout for a matinee show in Turku.

When I picked up a copy of Hardcore Hell 7” back in 2008 from a friend’s distro I was blown away, and I remember being totally obsessed with their first LP a couple years later. It’s been 17 years since I bought that 7”, but somehow the band still sounds as powerful as ever. They are absolutely incredible on stage and all the energy is still there, almost as if the first EP came out yesterday. Not sure how they do it, but I guess it’s some kind of black magic that most of us will never have access to.

As if playing shows with Kriegshög wasn’t enough, PUBLIC ACID and IGNORANCE joined us for all three dates to make sure every night was noisy enough. And they didn’t disappoint.

Huge thanks to all the bands and people who helped out with food, accommodation, backline, merch and everything else, or just came out to shows in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku and made it feel special. Most importantly, thanks to KRIEGSHÖG and PUBLIC ACID for going the extra mile to visit our little country that doesn’t get as many touring bands as the rest of Europe. It was an absolute pleasure to meet all of you, and I can’t wait to see you again. Hopefully sooner than later.

Kriegshög and Public Acid still have a few dates to go before finishing the tour at K-town hardcore fest, so if you’re looking for some top-shelf hardcore punk you can still see em in Stockholm, Oslo, Malmö and Copenhagen.

ありがとう
Thank you!
Kiitos!

It’s been a while since Kohti Tuhoa released anything new, so I’m happy to tell you this new Passing Bells compilation 7” is now available. It’s got one new Kohti Tuhoa track which we’ve been playing at a couple shows this year. Stoked to have our track on a compilation with a killer lineup like this, six bands and lovely people from all over the world:

SIDE A
RUIDOSA INMUNDICIA (Austria)
POVLACION (Japan)
MUJERES PODRIDAS (USA)

SIDE B
SKIZOPHRENIA! (Japan)
KOHTI TUHOA (Finland)
VASTUSTA (Finland)

I have a few extra copies in case anyone is interested. You can also order it directly from the label via email (wholesale available as well)

passingbells ( AT) hotmail.com

People outside Finland can email these distros or ask if a local dealer got any copies:

Vox Populi (Japan)
General Speech (USA)
Kick Rock (France)

The package looks and sounds great. Comes in a cool foldout poster sleeve, two different versions available.

#passingbells #punk #hardcore #vinyl #ruidosainmundicia #povlacion #mujerespodridas #skizophrenia #kohtituhoa #vastusta
