Many of you know this, but to those of you who don’t, I made a goal coming into 2025. That goal, simply put, was to “show up.” Show up to the gym, show up for friends, show up to church, show up for family, show up for myself etc. It wasn’t always easy but with the help of those around me I feel like I’ve come a long way. I’m really proud of the work I’ve done and because of it, I can’t wait to see what comes down the road in 2026. I still have a lot of work to do but to those of you in my life thank you for making everyday better than the last. I love you all and God bless.

Meet the cast of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! We asked Andrew Lesnett some questions about the show:

Tell us a little bit about your character.

I play Tumnus, who is a faun and the first person/creature that Lucy encounters when she enters Narnia. Tumnus is a good-natured character even though he is a little bit of a coward. He wrestles with the inner struggle of turning Lucy over to the witch, since he is a kidnapper, or to help someone he truly cares about.

What are some of the unique challenges that you've encountered during rehearsals?

Tumnus is a faun, which means his lower half is the body of a goat. Trying to apply that physicality while not making it too comical provided some challenge.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is one of the most beloved fantasy stories of all time. What's your favorite magical element in the world of Narnia?

I love the transition from the real world to Narnia by way of the wardrobe. Using the wardrobe as a gateway to this fantasy world and watching the transition happen onstage is surreal.

What's something an audience member should know before they see this play?

Go into it open-minded. This is a show based in fantasy, so don't try to apply logic to it. While it's appropriate for all ages, it is not just a children's show; people of all ages will get something out of it.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe runs March 3rd-12th at the @newhazlett. Get your tickets at primestage.com! #PSTLion #PghTheatre #BringingLiteratureToLife
