Often letters sit cold in
empty tin boxes.
Replies red as wine
with an ice cube!

Seeing to the cresting rust, resting up

Lest you forget-
We all wander
Fraught wings mercilessly
flapping, the chirping,
Sparrows on the carpet!

Pleasantly guided through the windows.

Remember she will-
Carry her pigeons to the post office
Bio-contained, safer
Cardboard reams, papered
Fragile, obscene!
Not keen to be here
These pigeons,
Sunken cooing when the shipping labels go on,
Plus a line out the post office door!
Huffy customers in disbelief.
An infant, in line behind also coos

Soothing, tapping our feet, just wanting to send the damn letters.

We all wonder
Who ordered them anyways?

Lately, lots of birds pass through the windows.
Brief interludes, on
Merry, flying ways
The company is nice
