Hand spot is so crucial for holding connection, barrel delivery, and keeping body/barrel synced up ⚡️

Our goal is to accelerate the barrel from the start spot.

Many will create a wasteful change in position before actually accelerating the barrel and this is a big reason why you see so many players pull off pull-side.

“How long can you stay attached to your shoulder?”

Trying to let the ball travel to us and hold that connection.

Grabbing the back sleeve just holds enough tension to feel yourself stay there, but also allows you to release the swing without manipulating it in a bad way.

IMO a ball or band doesn’t allow you to do this as clean.

Struggle to backspin? Especially pull-side?

1) Connection - hands , shoulder, barrel working together in sync?
Identify if/how you “disconnect”

2) Set Up - set up should help make it easier to turn connected! Everyone has a similar, yet unique launch position. Hand set, bat angle, flow to your spot is meant to help create the connected turn more consistent.

3) Commit to your approach - it’s challenging, but dial yourself in after every pitch. Many times thinking about staying through the big part of the field even helps you pull with backspin much better. The moment we think “I’m going to crush this” we lose proper sequencing and tend to get ourself out.

Good bit of connection work in this session and then letting it eat with the approach in BP 🔥⚾️

“The Rubber Band Effect”

Envisioning a rubberband connected between your stride foot and hands. Stretching that band as you load.

🔑Seperation is Key

Getting consistent seperation in the swing is key for being consitent with delievering the barrel.

When hitters lack seperation the swing becomes pushy, resulting in a lack of barrel control and loss of power.

When striving to get more seperation:

Try these cues-
“Stretch the rubberband”
or
“Walk away from the hands”
