Peaked too soon. April was a wedding. May was a party. June was a blur. Now I’ve got half of July and all of August left. My liver’s exhausted. My soul’s negotiating.

Still can't believe it! 🥇 Today I won 1st place at the Open Water Regionals! 2K in 26 minutes for the first time, and I'm so proud of how it went. Such an amazing experience! A huge thank you to my coaches, Shigor @shagor_sends and Dan, for believing in me and helping me every step of the way. And thank you to my friend Aiden @aidendoorbeejan_13 for an awesome race and all the support, and to Alejandro @alex.lorca89 for pushing me the whole way. Racing with you guys made me better today. Can't wait for the next one! 💙🏊‍♂️

Fantastic weekend @swimserpentine for our last event of the year! Loved seeing our ambassadors in action, @alex.lorca89 won the fast wave and @chloedooley was first woman out of the water. Great to meet so many swimmers enjoying the day and to see the zone3 community out on the water sharing the love for open water swimming.

Meet the Attain Ambassador @alex.lorca89 🙌🏼 Full Name/Nickname •Alejandro Romero / Ale Local town/area you run from •Hackney (London) OS TQ386877 What does the word “Attain” mean to you? •To me, “Attain” represents the journey of reaching for something greater—whether that’s personal growth, conquering new goals, or pushing through mental and physical challenges. It’s about constant progress and the belief that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. Will we mostly see you on the trails, road or hitting the track? •I’m mostly on the road running in Hackney and Regents Canal or the trails around Victoria Park/ London Fields. But depending on my training or goals, you might also catch me hitting the track in Mile End every now and then for some speed work. Can you share a personal story about how Attain has given you an opportunity to chew over mental health? •Attain has been an incredible reminder that the mental aspect of sport is just as important as the physical, that’s what attracted me to the brand. Running has always been my outlet to clear my mind, and Attain’s focus on mental well-being helped me understand that it’s okay to slow down and focus on your mental health too, which I often forget about when I hyper focus on training and race goals. During a particularly tough time, I found that just going for a run with no expectations allowed me to process my thoughts and emotions, helping me reset. How does it make you feel knowing that you are representing a brand that is potentially saving people’s lives? •It’s truly humbling and inspiring and a cause that’s very close to my heart. To represent a brand like Attain, which understands the deep connection between mental health and fitness, makes me feel like I’m part of something much bigger than just running or training. It’s not just about performance—it’s about making a real impact in people’s lives. What would be your idea of the perfect Attain Cap for this Summer? •My perfect Attain cap for summer would be light, breathable, and moisture-wicking. Versatile enough to pair with any outfit. www.attainruncap.co.uk🖕🏼suicide. In aid of @calmzone

➡️ There’s so much information out there about endurance sports training, but not all of it is helpful or accurate. Here are some myths to keep in mind: Going fast all the time 🏃‍♂️💨
While intervals are important for improving speed, the priority should always be low-intensity work. As a rule of thumb, keep your heart rate below 75% of your max for about 80% of your training. Stretching increases recovery 🧘
Stretching likely won’t improve recovery, so it may not need to be a key part of your routine. For performance, stretching could improve your running economy (the energy you use at a given intensity) by around 1%. However, the protocols for this can hinder recovery, and since running requires a relatively small range of motion, excessive flexibility isn’t necessary. Carb-loading 🥖
For races shorter than a half marathon, carb-loading isn’t essential. That said, eating carbs the night before and on race morning is a good idea. Just avoid overdoing it, as too many carbs can increase your weight and potentially reduce performance. Jumping into Mondays! Our latest drop is almost here. @alex.lorca89 testing out our new insulated gilet a few weeks ago. The exterior fabric is windproof, breathable and water-repellant. It’s super light but nice and cosy now the weather is turning. Ale is also wearing our Woodland Trail shorts and Black Technical Fleece Hoodie, all designed to work together as part of our layering system. R x #running #makers #triathlon
