Oh Hank, what an adventure he has been for our family. We truly had no idea what to expect. We got him at 41 lbs and he left us at 238 lbs. We learned a lot. How to feed him, bathe him, walk him, weigh him, give him shots, clean his pen, pick up his poop and so much more. From April 13th - September 17th we cared for him the best we could. Since he didn’t make auction, we had a choice to make. We could take him to slaughter and get about 30% of his weight in meat (that wouldn’t even be good) OR we could sell him at market price (.45 cents per lb) to a local farmer who’d continue to feed him until he is really ready to be processed. (Likely 6-9 more months) So, that’s what we decided!

Let’s just say our investment of $3500 (approx) will not be recovered, but I would say the experience has definitely been worth it. Now we can add FFA family to our resume. 🤍 So proud of Bree for taking this on. It has been fun to watch her try something new!

Will we be back? Ummm…. we don’t want to discuss that at this time… 😅

Thanks to everyone who followed along, visited him and loved our guy!

That’ll do pig, that’ll do. 🤍
