Summer festival in Chiba prefecture! It was so nice to meet everyone and see people from school! The music was great and the performances were incredible to watch.

My host dad mita had a huge part in the festival and he did such a great job bringing it all together.

The yukata I am wearing is my host moms, Maki. This yukata was given to her by her late mother, it is adorned with sunflowers and a golden obi. Making me stand out more than normal in the most elegant way possible. Maki took me to a salon to professionally fit me in the yukata as-well as get my hair done. This day was so special and having @alexa.mcddd there made it even better ❤️❤️❤️

June/July Monthly Post
The past couple of months have been packed with experiences. Many of my exchange friends have returned home, and I’ve been able to explore more. At school, we held a cultural festival where my class created a Friday the 13th–themed haunted house. Two of my friends came to stay in Katsuura, and we enjoyed karaoke and SUP boarding together.

With my third host family, I went to Yokohama with Manu and my host brother, just before saying a sad goodbye to Manu at the airport. Back at school, I’ve started lifting weights with some of the boys and cooling off in inflatable pools after hot days.

Recently, I took part in a matsuri where I carried a shrine for the gods all day under the blazing sun—it was tough but unforgettable. Not long after, I had to say goodbye to Cole as he headed back to Canada.

On the brighter side, I met Alexa, and she, Anna, and Eli visited Katsuura for some fun at the beach and the hotel pools. With my host family, I also met MoMo, a friend of my host mum, and we spent some time together at the beach.

Thanks to one of my best friends, Yoshiki, and his family, I got to visit teamLab in Tokyo and the famous, car-packed Daikoku PA, where we saw many incredible vehicles. I recently turned 19 and celebrated my birthday with Rotary members and friends.

It’s now my summer holidays, and I’ve been lucky enough to spend my days swimming and training with my host dad.
