I think somewhere along the way we forgot what real life is supposed to look like.
We have gotten so used to seeing everyone’s best moments that ordinary days can start to feel like they are not enough.
We compare our behind the scenes to someone else’s carefully chosen moments and wonder why our lives do not look the same. We feel pressure to make everything aesthetic, exciting, or worth posting, and sometimes we spend more time trying to capture a moment than actually living it.

But real life has never been perfect.
It has never been about getting the right angle or choosing the photo where I look the best.
Real life is meaningful conversations over coffee, being exhausted from work, sitting in the silence, laughing with your best friends over inside jokes, crying because you don’t feel like enough, learning how to navigate both busy and slow seasons, stressed about your future, and spending time with people who make the mundane feel exciting.

I do not want to remember my life by what got the most likes. I don’t want to remember my life by the photos I took at the cute coffee shop, but rather the memories that happened in those moments.
I want to remember how it felt. The conversations, the laughter, the little moments that seemed insignificant at the time but became the ones I miss the most.

Maybe we do not need more perfectly curated lives.
Maybe we just need to look up more often.
Because real life was never meant to be performed.
Real life was meant to be experienced.

And that has been where I have seen God show up the most.
Not in the “aesthetic” version of life, but in the ordinary, unposted, in-between moments.
The moments that are so quiet that all I can hear is His voice, guiding, shaping, growing, me in ways I do not always notice in the moment.
Real life is where God moves.
Real life was meant to be experienced with God.
