Almost forgot to post a recap of my tour last month to celebrate my tape ‘For the Light’ 🪽I raised another $300 for the Red Crescent which brings the tape total w/ online sales included to $2329 (thank you!!!!)

The mirror pic was taken in my favorite show space, Rhizome. It’s where I came into myself and learned what I’m made of. It’s where I started to feel truly embedded in something deeper. It’s where I played my first shows solo and with a band. It’s where I first started booking and running shows myself. It’s where I met my partner. It’s where I wept watching Simon Joyner play “Only Living Boy in Omaha” because I felt simply overcome by the thought that the humans before me in the room were spending their precious breath and time making music so that other humans could spend their precious breath and time listening to it.

While driving to the first stop I called my partner and asked why I was doing any of it? Was it vanity? Am I trying to prove something to myself or to someone else? But it’s not that simple. It’s connection, finding, learning, growing, seeing and being seen by others. By the time I left the last show I could feel something bubbling up inside of me begging to do it again. (It’s been feeling really good to be playing more lately so hopefully I’ll plan more soon!)

I’m so grateful and honored to have shared time with everyone who played or came to one of these shows. Every bill that I planned myself was SWANA only and I find that remarkable (especially considering how last minute I pulled the whole thing together). Each night enveloped me in a sense of unspoken understanding and belonging—it felt like coming home.

Anyway, all that’s to say, we’re so back lol
