For Alex, joining @haitilax has meant becoming part of something bigger than himself. 🇭🇹🥍

Despite coming from a different background, he never felt isolated. Instead, he was welcomed as family from day one. From sharing laughs with teammates to getting reps on the field, Alex couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to represent Haiti Lacrosse.

He also shares his hopes for the future of the program and his belief that one day this team can make it to the Olympic stage.

Sometimes the game gives you a chance to represent more than one community. 🥍🌎

Alex is Cambodian, but without a Cambodian international lacrosse team to compete for, he reached out to Coach Pat Young and asked for an opportunity to play with @haitilax.

Coach Pat welcomed him in, Alex earned a place on the reserve team, and the experience became a reminder of how lacrosse can bring different cultures together through one shared game.

Thank you @alexcheaa1_ for speaking with us last night about possibly putting together a lacrosse clinic in the future🥍‼️

We are very excited to begin putting together small sports clinics and bringing more attention to Khmer athletes across different sports and our culture!

Comment below If you would attend a lacrosse day clinic or know someone who would attend and loves lacrosse!
