Volleyball has taught me the most valuable lessons in my life. I will always be beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to play. It has been everything to me for 13 years. I have loved the game for over half of my life. The game has given me my best friends, purpose, and happiness. On the flip side, it has challenged me in more ways than imaginable. As an athlete, I thought I was prepared for injuries and the mental battle. I was not… coming back from a season-ending injury proved to myself that I can push myself physically and mentally. I am so beyond proud, specifically of my class, for sticking together when times were rough. Three coaches in four years have taught me how to adapt and commit to change. While I can’t say college volleyball was anything like I expected, it taught me everything I needed to know about myself. I will forever thank God, my parents, my brothers, my teammates, and everyone around me that helped me during the rough times of the game. I played with my heart, and while at times it was concerning how much I cared, I would not have approached it any differently. My passion and love for the game outweighed the losing seasons and adversity faced. When I was recruited to play at Assumption, I had no intent on staying all four years. I fell in love with the idea of turning a program around and leaving it better than I found it. After breaking records and changing decade-old books, beating teams that the program hasn’t beaten in decades, winning games as the underdog, and leaving everything out on the court, I am grateful for the opportunity to wear a Greyhounds jersey for four years. I hope I gave AUVB as much as it has given me. I don’t know what is next, but I will forever look back at the good and bad times and smile, knowing that through it all, my class as well as myself came out on the other side and left it better than we found it. I always reminded myself to expect nothing and appreciate everything. I will always appreciate the joy and the heartbreak of college volleyball. Thank you volleyball for everything 💙🐶
