"And don't disappear when you feel inadequate." ~ Alice (from Ted Lasso)

Sometimes, the hardest part of being an athlete isn't the physical work.

It's showing up when you don't feel good enough.

When the jumps aren't there.
When your confidence takes a hit.
When everyone else seems to be improving, and you're wondering if you're falling behind.
When you're struggling to be the athlete you know you can be.

Those are the moments when it's tempting to pull away. To stop talking. To stop asking questions. To stop letting people see you struggle.

But those are the moments you need your people the most.

You don't have to be performing at your best to be a valuable part of this squad.

You don't have to have all the answers.
You don't have to pretend everything is okay.
You don't have to earn the right to be supported by having a good practice.

Show up.
Stay connected.
Let people help you.
Keep doing the work.

Your teammates aren't just here to celebrate your best jumps. They're here for the days when you can't seem to find them.

And you owe them that same presence in return.

Because this is bigger than track and field.

When you feel inadequate, don't isolate yourself. When you struggle, don't disappear. When you need help, let someone in.

You belong here on the good days.

You belong here on the hard days, too.

THE STANDARD: We don't leave people behind, and we don't leave ourselves behind.

Put your head down if you need to...but don’t let one moment decide what comes next.

Everyone has bad reps.

Everyone misses jumps.

Everyone has days when things don't feel right.

What matters is how you respond.

You might put your head down for a moment.

You might feel frustrated.

But then you reset, refocus, and get ready for the next opportunity.

Your teammates are watching.

Your coaches are watching.

Most importantly, your response is in your hands.

Carry yourself like the athlete you are trying to become.

Proud to be a mom of my two babes and a track mom to all of Steve’s athletes every year! I got flowers and homemade gifts from Preston and Evie and then we spent the day at the track for a meet where I got flowers from an athlete for being his track mom! 🥹 To say it made my day is an understatement! I will always cheer you all on and pray for your continued success! Spending Mother’s Day at the track just makes sense! 🥰

GV jumps, the hardest yet most rewarding 3 years

Couldn’t have done it without @gvsujumps and his belief in me. I’m not only a better athlete, but a better person. I strive to be the coach he was and is for me.

To the past 11 years and everyone I’ve gotten to train and compete with, thank you thank you thank you
