Queue Baba O'Riley!
Yep, it's me. You're probably wondering how I got here...

Long story short, I ran my mouth too much for Instagram's liking.

But now that I've had some time to think about things, I've come back a new Man. Lookout world, I'm coming.

Are you getting only part of Jesus? Do you want to live fully in Him, for Him and with Him?

If we preach only Christ the teacher, we miss His apostolic mission of being sent out to the world to bring everyone back to the Father.

If we preach only Christ crucified, we miss His victory over death, sin, and sickness.

If we preach only Christ resurrected, we miss His redemptive suffering and His outpouring of the Spirit.

We preach Jesus, we want to live like Jesus, we want to follow Him in this age and culture until we are one.

Day 3 Retreat
Temecula day with @the_taniacamargo and @i.am.thiago.da.costa

We’ve got rain, sunshine, new wine vibes, deep convos and fun time together after Mass.

When we show up
The places that need to be filled
Get to be loved and accepted
And we can laugh together

It’s so wonderful to have three days in the spectrum ranging from prophetic charismatic ecumenical setting to the Mass in the Anglican rite and to appreciate all of the streams that bring us to Jesus, our King.

Day 2 at @davids_tent_us with @jason_upton

Hearts surrounded by beauty
Of God Who perseveres
In leading us through the wild places
Where desolation is welcomed by the hunger of desire

For the One who hides in darkness
Sings over us with tender Voice
Moving us with questions which deserve attention of a silent place of surrender

Dwelling in the mystery
Will save us from the trap of popular boredom and finding what we did not even seek for
It will bring us into the center of the heartbeat of the world
The solitude in which we receive vision
Where the child’s laughter turns His gaze into creating the wind of wonder anew

What we turn toward
No matter how far we stand
Is gonna make us
Until we become
Hidden for good

What a great re:new retreat for worshippers we’ve had in SoCal today! Thank you @davids_tent_us team for making this possible!

"Now 100% without a doubt I want to get confirmed. I was so sad I had to leave on Sunday. I loved my group especially @bethjn555 and @alexnthings They're such powerful women that I look up to so much."
- Confirmation year two student on her retreat experience and wanting to be confirmed this year.

Our missionaries and Stone to Flesh tribe were involved in leading Confirmation retreat at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Pasadena, where our missionary @legendary_heartthrobr0bbb is youth minister.

God is on the move.

We value body, soul, and spirit.
We value our time and friendships.
We value intimacy and the vulnerability that comes from crying, laughing, and praying together.
We value small steps to great things, personal renewal times that lead to great works of the Spirit.
We value the love that we give to each other when we make time for listening, sharing and being.

God shows up in the small and makes it big.
God shows up in the concrete and daily celebrations.
God shows up and doesn't take for granted that He is hidden and visible in various aspects of our community life.

Building community is all about building people. It is a slow life of the Book of Acts. Sometimes people forget that it describes 30 years not just few months. What was happening in between the chapters and verses? How were the families growing? What were disciples doing, those of which we don’t hear by name? How were they celebrating weddings and how many community dinners were they throwing weekly? How was the early church’s support sustaining those their commissioned on a monthly and weekly basis? Were they ever afraid, wrong, angry, confused, isolated, interdependent within the surrounding culture? We have some answers and they provide certain pattern for trying to live a Christian life in a modern world.

There are many in between the chapters moments that no one sees but without them we would be just an organization, not an organism. We would be a bunch of performers, not seekers of the Kingdom. The pathway to live in between the chapters of the Book of Acts in the 21st century is fascinating, slow and challenging.

Community life is a slow life. It stands in contradiction to grabbing every opportunity, being addicted to creating momentums, being fixed on getting followers, striving for productivity over relationships.

It’s about entering into slow but purposeful movements of living together yet growing individually. Reaching for grace on behalf of those who are stuck. Paying attention to the weak, suffering and those who fall apart by creating a culture of patient radiance, encouragement and recognizing limitations, gladness when we see the progress and victory, sharing daily habits and joys of everyday small steps of faithfulness.

This is a short reflection before we start Quarter IV of School of the Heart (stonetoflesh.org/soth). You can sign up for the 2021/22 edition now.

What do you seek when you look for a place and space where you can belong, where you will be accepted, where you will be exhorted, where you will be able to take your mask off, grow and give?

When people enter Benedictine monasteries, they are asked : What do you seek? by the Abbott or Abbess.

We seek love and place where we can give love away. We seek exchange of the gifts as persons made in the image of God. We seek correction and growth, understanding and a mission worth living and dying for, hoping for the fire of the Holy One to bring us to the place where we can say: You are worshipped among us.

Love one another.
Honor your tribe.
Surprise your people.
Listen deeply to your friends.
Play, dance, sing and pray with them.
Admonish and cherish their presence.
Cultivate friendships and open your circles to those who hunger for deep connection.

From there you can become missional, fruitful, healing, healthy and helpful. From there you can go out and offer togetherness, trust, openness and freedom. You can live from there because you love one another and that’s what the world craves.

A few of us were able to get together for 🏈 Sunday. Don’t be deceived by the first instagrammable photo. Things were happening.
