When we started The Nest (over two years ago…) the idea that we’d win an award wasn’t even close to the surface. Even by June this past summer, the idea that this journey would be shared with others, still didn’t seem like an attainable goal. So much time, passion, thinking, talent, and trust was poured into this project by so many friends/family that I’m excited to announce The Nest has won the German Design Award @germandesigncouncil.

Thank you to the jury for the honor. Thank you to @slanted_publishers for funneling this project into a beautiful form. Thank you to @thelast3days, @leisurebeast, & @ianlynam for launching a successful KS campaign and contributing your words and thoughts to many (and all) sections of the book. Thank you to all the contributors that wrestled with design concepts and storytelling during a weird time… @gonzalescrisp, @swanswanie, @bijanberahimi, @los_hopper, @lulusandhaus, @juliettebellocq, @davidkarwan, Michael Worthington, @edwardfella, @martinvenezky, @jsueda, @psahre, @bates_george, and Joseph Conway. Special thanks to Michael Worthington, @tomkracauer & @triffanietran , and @calartsgd for inspiring the whole trip. And to @kimkittens, Bryton, and Summer for allowing me the space to pack, unpack, and re-pack the entirety of The Nest. Thanks to all the KS backers for making this a real project!

Wishing everyone well in the new year. Book is for sale at @slanted_publishers and online (https://www.slanted.de/product/the-nest). Thank you for all the support, then > now > always.

❣️A biiiiig ty ❣️ to everyone who stopped by to hang out, donated mutual aid to @wattscommunitycore + @onesectionatatime, and filled out our community survey yday! We started a community survey to get to know our neighbors, see what they care about, and to reflect what we learned in our messaging and programs.

We table monthly every first Saturday of the month from 12-2pm at Liberty Park in Ktown to collect mutual aid for redistribution to Black led organizations and efforts. #mutualaid #communitycare
