This isn’t really how I pictured this season ending.
It’s been a long, bumpy journey… one with a lot of ups and downs, and more injuries than I expected. There were moments I felt strong, and moments I felt completely defeated. And if I’m being honest, it’s been hard to sit with how everything turned out. I had bigger goals for myself. I really believed in what this season could be… so yeah, my pride is a little hurt. But I’ve been taking time to reflect on everything, the good, the hard, all of it. A trying to understand what I’m meant to take from this and how I’m supposed to move forward. But one thing I keep coming back to…. over and over again, is that my (identity) isn’t in this sport. As much as I love wrestling, it doesn’t define me. My faith and my trust are in God, and I’m learning slowly to be patient with the plan He has for me, even when it looks nothing like what I had in mind. ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” ~Proverbs 3:5
And in the middle of all of this, I’m reminded that I am human. I am allowed to feel this, to be disappointed, to grow through it… and still be loved exactly as I am. There’s so much peace in knowing that my life is in God’s hands.
I’m still very much processing everything, still learning, still growing… and I know that this season is shaping me into who I’m meant to become. Even if I don’t completely believe it right now.
& through it all, I’m just so grateful. For my friends, my family, my teammates, and my coaches. Thank you for walking with me through every high and every low this season. And to my amazing boyfriend, thank you for being a (constant) through it all!!

This season may not have been what I expected, but I know it meant something.

Peace Out Girl Scout ✌🏽🤍.
